If you've never contributed to an open source project but want to start, it can be intimidating.
To help you feel more confident, Ife wrote this helpful guide.
In it she explains how to fork and clone the repo, create a branch, and push your changes.

Got the kids to sleep so I made https://t.co/jtxQc4wgek support all first-party Laravel packages by default.
Took some work, but got there in the end 💪🏻
CSS loaders and progress indicators are some of the most widely used examples in tutorials and documentation. There are so many ways to approach them.🌀

SOLID principle is one of the most important design principles in OOP languages like Java, Python, C#, etc.
Sadly, most of the programmers find it super difficult to understand.
Here's the simplest guide to understand SOLID principles:
@reinink I'd avoid anything that doesn't source it's data from CLDR (industry standard). CLDR is reliable and up-to-date, they have localized names, formats, etc... all vetted.
An example implementation is Punic: https://t.co/K2UjtYVi80
Can anyone recommend a nice country data set that includes:
- country name
- country code
- regions (states/provinces) including their names and codes
- localization information like what they call their region and postal codes (if they have them)
Ideally something that you can install via a third party package, but could also be something accessible via a 3rd party API.
Something like this dataset:
Hey Designers, I know it depends, however
What is the common size you use for your web app UI elements such as buttons, dropdowns, inputs, etc.?
I see a mixture of High and Medium density among popular apps as attached.
I have a default size in MD based on my experiences and research, however I want to ask you directly to extend @FinalVerCom for your specific needs.
Cheers,
Here is an open-source generative AI application.
It uses AI to generate professional headshots in minutes.
It's an excellent opportunity for developers who want to see an end-to-end generative AI app from the inside.
It's free, and it's all in GitHub:
Makefiles is peak build tooling.
Imagine opening literally **ANY** project, and all you need to know is:
🔨 make build
✅ make test
🚀 make run
That’s it.
No need to learn a new build tool.
No need to install it.
No need to care about its specifics.
No need to remember all new different commands.
I wonder where we turned on the wrong path 😔
A common programming mistake: Forgetting to start with a verb.
Here are 4 things that should typically start with a verb:
1. Function
🚫 userGet
✅ getUser
2. Ticket title
🚫 Password reset
✅ Implement password reset
3. Pull Request
🚫 Login change
✅ Refactor login
4. Commit message
🚫 Casing
✅ Fix file casing
Designers, we have a problem. I call it Figmaism.
Figmaism is an obsession with tooling at the expense of other (and often more important) skills.
Here's how it slows down your UX career growth.

𝗜𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀
In the past 2-3 years, we have mainly worked remotely, having many meetings from home. Yet I see that people use a simple laptop and low-speed Internet connection. This means that the impression of video meetings could be much better.
If you (mostly) work from home, try to update the following:
𝟭. 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 (in front of you)
𝟮. 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (at least 100/10Mbps)
𝟯. 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲
With this, you will sound and be seen much differently (better). Check the difference in the sound recording between the laptop and the ext. mic I recorded here (https://t.co/Kco57ib8ET). Also, you can use quality headsets such as Bose QuietComfort 45 or similar if you don't want an external microphone.
In addition to this, I also use the following equipment:
🔹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿: DELL U3421WE (34" curved)
🔹 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗽: Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2i (Core I7, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD)
🔹 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱: Logitech MX Mechanical wireless
🔹 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲: Logitech MX Master 3S wireless + RAZER Strider XXL Mat
🔹 𝗠𝗶𝗰: Trust GXT 242 (this changed a lot)
🔹 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Elgato Key Light Air, Philips Hue for three-point lighting setup
🔹 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗰𝗮𝗺: Logitech StreamCam Full HD
🔹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿: HermanMiller Embody (the most important part of the equipment)
🔹 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸: Steelcase Migration SE
🔹 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: Elgato StreamDeck Mkl.2, Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock
Additionally, I use, which is not in the picture: 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝟭𝟲" with 16GB RAM, 𝗜𝗣𝗮𝗱 6th gen 9,7" Wifi, primarily for drawing, with some iPhone devices for the Apple ecosystem, and also 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝟲.𝟴" 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 for reading books (the most important thing of all).
Regarding my software setup, when coding, I work primarily in 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 and 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲, and sometimes 𝗝𝗲𝘁𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 too. For the command line, I use 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 primarily for some general but also PowerShell stuff.
What is your setup? Share in the comments.

This is one of the best cold emails ever.
But here a 3 ways that it could be even better:
1. Create a hook
The subject line needs a better hook than "internship." e.g., "Snapchat feedback from 10 high schoolers + internship"
2. Add value
Give first, then ask. e.g., "I spoke to 10 classmates, here's a doc with quotes on how Snapchat can be better."
3. Make a low-effort ask
A simple "How" is much better than "Want to schedule some time to chat?" But the ask could be even more specific. e.g., "Can you forward this to a recruiter?"
"So farewell, TypeScript. May you bring much rigor and satisfaction to your tribe while letting the rest of us enjoy JavaScript in the glorious spirit it was originally designed: Free of strong typing." https://t.co/mCDhyrmEnu
