@SecretCFO@PEoperator Are you able to provide any broad examples? I know you don't want to reveal the secret sauce.
I'm trying to better understand the differences and thought processes.
Thanks!
@MikeBotkin_ Was there any difference in who stayed on? Did the w/o earnouts see more fresh blood and perhaps people better able to drive the business forward?
Trying to see how to explain and think about it.
This was me this afternoon. I was making sure I understood what each position was for and which ones felt underweight based on their potential.
Reminds me of last year when I sized up stuff into a short draw down thinking I'm the best. The market will always humble you!
PSA: If you’ve been feeling like a genius the last couple weeks, it’s the bull market not you.
Anyone can look smart when everything’s going up. The hard part is knowing what you actually did right versus what the market just handed you for “free”.
Don’t confuse timing with skill. The market will humble you the second you start believing your own hype.
@joinyellowbrick You're not wrong.
My big takeaway was there existed a mismatch in capital vs strategy. They did not have permanent capital and thus in an unusual series of events it got called away due to what might have been a freak short term event.
Permanent capital makes or breaks you
@ContrarianCurse One fear I have is hardware is getting too expensive.
GTA 6 comes out and you have to buy a PS5.
You see it costs $600+.
How many decide its not worth it?
We won't know till after the fact, but I keep hearing PS5 penetration is slower than the PS4.
@P_Remarks@scuttleblurb A couple I have not seen mentioned.
$CLPT. Potential FDA approval coming for partner drug
$PDEX. Zimmer scaling new robotic surgery that they sell a piece for
$ELF. Cosmetics. Their death has been exaggerated.
@BlackScholesMan@MicrocapTrader That's how I feel too. Ended up selling cc on the position at various strikes for June. Will see if I can buy them back for less in the coming weeks.
If this is true, that is crazy and crushes the idea that this is all unsustainable. I'm not sure how you prove or disprove this from the outside is the issue. For example, how do they define operating profit.
