#GSA2023 brings people together!
At my poster I was reunited with @RealHuntley. He was my neighbor when I was 10 and introduced me to the world of geology. His endless support in my passion means the world to me.

I had an amazing time with @GSA_MGPV at our student mixer during #GSA2023. This was a great opportunity to share my interests with students like me, and make lifelong connections.

My poster is up today, #303!
“Application of olivine-melt thermometry and hygrometry to Tenerife basalts: implications for origins of low Mg# alkaline melts”

#GSA2023
Had the opportunity to attend a geo-communication panel during GSA today. Amazing to hear the perspectives of these amazing geo/science communicators and think about accessibility, privilege, and communication when it comes to geology.

#GSA2023 is approaching…
I am so excited to present my research on olivine melt thermometry and hygrometry during the #MGPV session for Graduate and Undergraduate students. #Geology#womeninSTEM
I had the opportunity this past weekend to visit @sunyoswego and use their SEM to get some backscatter electron images of my basalt thin sections from #Tenerife. It was a great opportunity to get more comfortable using a SEM.

Something new we are incorporating into lab is the Field Move app. Used as a brunton compass that measures strike and dip as well as trend and plunge.
I love my brunton, but this is a great accesible tool.

This semester i’m a TA for structural geology, and we are heading out into the highlands and lowlands of the Adirondack Mountains.
Our students are using their new skills to reconstruct the processes that have occurred here over the last billion years.

@geosociety I just had my abstract accepted for presentation during the GSA Connects 2023 Meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I cannot wait to connect with other geoscientists and learn some new things! #GSA2023#womeninSTEM#Geology

GRADUATION! Massive congratulations to our 2023 @GeoIntern cohort who worked so hard all month on our research projects in #volcanology#volcanicreadiness and #sustainabletourism research projects. Amazing group of local and international students. So proud of you all! ❤️
So proud of all the hard work of our @GeoIntern students this summer, and in particular our scholars @frankiealoise@alejo_conej0@sergio_alfaya.
FF them to see what they have been up to and where they go next.
Three talented and committed young Geoscientists to watch!
Do you think about your #impact during field work?
This months issue of GSA Today covered the ethics of sampling and how important it is for future generations of geo scientists and #conservation

This morning I departed Tenerife to return to the US.
I want to thank @GeoIntern for the amazing opportunities they provided and for the new family I have of geographers, geologists, and overall brilliant minded people.

#LaPalma has shown me to the raw reality of studying #Geology
I see the beauty, but also the power this island holds.
I see how science communication is important, and I understand the responsibility and privilege as a scientist to communicate science efficiently
@GeoTenerife
@And1129 And cautious we are! Great point- We are carefully collecting data from the field and comparing it to published literature. We are looking for the best procedure for collection in the field and during later data analysis when using the pXRF.
Working hard here in #LaPalma
In a few days we will return to #Tenerife with @GeoIntern bringing back the research we’ve been conducting with the portable XRF. We are so excited to see what the other interns have been working on!
