My solo indie game Tabletop Tavern has sold 100,000 copies in its first two weeks! 🎉
Been a little preoccupied with bug fixes and balance patches but wanted to take a moment to thank all the people who have supported me over the years. I could not have reached this milestone without
@unitygames for their engine and support, especially that of @Raggune
The entire @SyntyStudios team for their models and their direct support of me for the past 5ish years
@AdventureMtn for the most accurate indie dev marketing advice
@JonasTyroller for his videos and podcasts on game dev, truly the best content out there.
@UnityCodeMonkey@SebastianLague@TurboMakesGames and @dani485b for their educational game dev content
@IndiegameJordan for all his hard work marketing
@GamirrorGames for Chinese Localization and QA @allcorrect for Spanish, French, Russian and German Localization
@AlexRak02@usmandevYT@InsomiSnorlax@the_real_aia for being supported game dev bros
@noclipvideo@dannyodwyer@DustinCanFly@thomasbrushdev@ThomasStewartW@idlethumbs for providing insightful and entertaining game-dev/video-game content
@ChrisWillx@AlexHormozi For providing inspiring and life changing advice
Eren and Nathan for giving me opportunities to be a professional unity developer
And last but most importantly my beautiful wife for believing in me and putting up with all the weekends and long nights I spent in front of a screen.
100,000 is just the start. Immensely proud of the community around this game and I look forward to continuing development on it!
Thanks again,
TJ
Absolutely no one asked for an article on how tavern themed games perform on Steam, but I was curious so I did a deep dive.🍻
Follow the link in my bio for the full newsletter article with some interesting data and case studies.
@TJGameDev Many RTS games do much the same thing, but with terrain! Hills, river crossings, or forests become points of interests because of the way it effects units.
Keep up the great work, keeping a close eye on this one!

Last weekend, I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a local game jam. As someone usually in marketing, I gained a new respect for game dev. It's tough.
The real magic in games? The devs - absolute wizards. Mad respect to anyone who finishes a game.
