Back in March, I received good News that I was selected for the 2026 @MSFC Reproductive Health Externship at @dynamic_doctors Uganda July cohort.
I’m now in Uganda and excited for two weeks of learning, growth, and collaboration.

I came hoping to learn, and I leave with a resource that I know I will keep coming back to. #TheMAMAGuide is more than a magazine, it’s a tool for learning, reflection, and sharing knowledge with the women in our families, communities, and workplaces.
"I first came across The Mama Guide on social media and the Umubyeyi Elevate website, but I wanted to understand it better. As a medical student and future healthcare provider, I believe it will help me support women with accurate information, and as a future mother, I know it will be valuable for me too.” — Ingabire Laetitia, Medical Student.
Today, I was more than an attendee, I was an admirer of the work being done by @umubyeyi_rw ❤️
The #MAMAGuideLaunch was a beautiful celebration of supporting and empowering women through every stage of life. Grateful to have been part of it.

“Violence does not end with reproductive age; our commitment to women’s rights must extend beyond it.”
Did you know that women spend nearly one-third of their lives in the post-menopausal stage in Rwanda? Yet menopause, an inevitable stage in every woman’s life, remains largely invisible in health policies, services, and public discourse.
Today, @doctors_women, in partnership with @amplifyfund, convened civil society organizations, policymakers, researchers, and health professionals for the official launch of the “Beyond the Pause Initiative,” which aims to strengthen Rwanda’s health system in addressing sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) affecting menopausal women.
This marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to confront an overlooked dimension of women’s health and rights, raising awareness about violence affecting menopausal women, while addressing broader challenges related to menopause, sexual wellbeing, dignity, and access to responsive health services.
Because protecting women’s rights must include every stage of life, not only the reproductive years.

On this #InternationalWomensDay , I remind the world that women and girls thrive when their health, dignity, and choices are respected.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights remain central to equality.
Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls. #srhradvocate 💜

“What happens when women healthcare providers choose to evolve with digital health? We build the Rwanda we want #Vision20250.”
Women are 70% of the global health workforce, yet hold less than 25% of leadership roles in tech design. At the same time, women are 75% more likely to use digital health tools than men. This gap must close, and it starts with us.
Today, @doctors_women and @rhiassociation convened women healthcare providers to deepen digital health skills, exploring how data and technology drive informed decision-making, resilient health systems, and progress toward SDG 3.
Digital health improves accessibility, evidence-based care, cost efficiency, equity, and quality health services.
Let’s commit to strengthening digital health tools, championing FemTech innovation, and leading Rwanda’s digital health future.

EXERCISE strengthens your immune system.
New data from 443,000+ adults shows that just 2–8 hours of aerobic activity weekly lowers cancer risk and deaths by reducing inflammation and keeping immunity strong with age.
Movement is powerful prevention.

They said it was her fault. Science says otherwise.
Stillbirth is not a curse, not a failure, not her doing. I’m attending this event to honor truth, challenge stigma, and be part of the healing. Join me Dec 6th at the Career Center. @umubyeyi_rw@unwomenrwanda@UmunyanaChantal
We closed our day with a session led by @doctors_women about the #16DaysOfActivism against GBV. We highlighted the role of providers in prevention and response. They also presented @Ally_Assist , a confidential platform that helps survivors report violence and access safe support
Yesterday we also held an educational session with @MDFC_Rwanda on the history of safe abortion law in Rwanda. They also introduced @ASAP_Finder ,a digital platform that helps people find nearby hospitals offering safe abortion care. This enhances access to safe SRHR services.
