I am frustrated international student stuck overseas. Paid top heavy $DOLLAR$ but ignored by Australia. I want JUSTICE from Australian government. Life ruined.
Hello australia , your country is in lockdown but cases are increasing day by day 😊what a shame , everyone is laughing on you karma will hit you soon students dreams matter.#LetUsBackToAus@ScottMorrisonMP @AlanTudgeMP
How long can we cope up with this anxiety and stress? We have been waiting for almost 2 years and still no clarity. Tourists from specific countries are being allowed but people who have lived and paid taxes are not. @AlexHawkeMP@NickMcKim@SBSPunjabi@tomwconnell@JulianHillMP
85% percent of the people are fully vaccinated and we still don’t have any timeline and plan. How is this even fair? Should we just quit? Atleast tell us if we would ever be able to return. we need to plan our life.2 years is a long long time @AlexHawkeMP@SBSPunjabi@tomwconnell
It’s painful, It’s agonizing to see our future getting destroyed. Our lives have been put on hold. 2 years have been completely wasted and nothing has changed and we are left with expired visas. Atleast extend our 485visas @AlexHawkeMP@SBSPunjabi@tomwconnell@smh@abcnews
In this pandemic politics people who are getting crushed are “Temporary residents” who are stuck offshore, got a life in Australia and watching their visas run down. Atleast extend our 485visas so when can return @AlexHawkeMP@JulianHillMP@SBSPunjabi@NickMcKim@abcnews@smh
I am SO tired of Australia. No other country has treated its tax paying residents like this. Should I just give up and move on with my life? 😞 As long as I’m waiting for borders to open, I’m a big ball of anxiety and idk how much longer I can take this
Today’s the day! Singaporean tourists can now come to Australia while I and 1,500,00+ other Australian resident visa-holders still can’t leave to see family and then return to Oz. Thousands more remain trapped offshore.
Please retweet and help end this cruelty once and for all.
Yet people on temporary resident visas (who may have lived here for years and contribute a lot to our society) can leave but are not allowed to return.
Why is it that we never prioritise the right people in this country?
Whether or not this particular person thinks he's just being funny, this is the precursor to domestic terrorism (not necessarily by him); we can choose to take it seriously or not. America did not.
Australia is so lucky international students and temporary visa holders choose to live and work here. There are so many doing essential work in our community, not to mention paying university fees and taxes. They deserve the same rights to come and go as other Australians.
Australian unis and the government should place students at the heart of its strategy, opines one academic. More below #LetUsBackToAus
