1/2 As an #ActuallyAutistic PDAer, I wish parents of PDA children would understand that hyper independence is an ableist capitalistic norm. Teaching a child to ignore their limits, bc u fear their adult dependency = much more detrimental to them than letting go of NT expectations

Yes. We urgently need better support for autistic people.

You know what doesn't do any of that?
Trying to subgroup autistic people. Subgrouping dehumanizes us. It makes other people treat us like a series of traits and deficits rather than as whole human beings.
