With the damage done to the autistic community this week, accountability needs to be forefront in considering the fallout of platforming damaging and outdated opinions. #autism#autistic#utafrith
@12PursueTruth Just out here waiting for the extra services and magic 'autism drugs'. Feel like I'll be waiting for another 40 years for that, but what do I know, I'm just a 'hyper sensitive' incorrectly late (NHS) diagnosed autistic who fell into a cultural meme of Autism.
ADHD paralysis is like standing at a 10-way intersection where every single light is green and everyone is honking at you to GO, but you have no idea which direction leads home.
So you just park the car in the middle of the road and sit there. You aren't "relaxing" on the sofa; you are trapped in a mental cage where the door is wide open but your legs have forgotten how to walk. It's a high-stress simulation of doing absolutely nothing while your internal monologue screams at you to move.
@drjenwolkin I left Twitter a while ago but this is the best welcome back on my newsfeed amongst the absolute feckery prevalent at the moment. My late diagnosed 40year old spork self thanks you 🧡

I'm not someone who shies away from hard conversations, but I draw the line at validating the psychology equivalent of GB News
U & ur cohost, Drinkwater (who grossly misrepresented this article on LinkedIn), have proven to be nothing more than disingenious & lacking good faith
Uta Frith has followed up her TES interview with one in the Sunday Times. Given the political timing, it's hard to believe this is all a coincidence.
Frith's target is re-confirmed: late-diagnosed autistic women.
But is her argument just one huge straw (wo)man...?

knowing what it's like to lose a child and my own trauma from my car accident a few years ago, tonight has torn me up inside. What those children and accompanying adults have been through is devastating. Gratitude to the amazing EMS response.
Somerset stands together #minehead
@BusesOfSomerset So eventually the answer was yes. it did change. This is extremely poor planning. By making the time 5 minutes earlier-2 minutes before the school day ends, you've removed a possible transport option from children using using the bus which is even more illogical with darker nights
@BusesOfSomerset Please can you give an idea on changes to the 21/21A as this service I often use to help collect my child from king alfreds and home again on the bus, at the moment timings are very tight (4 mins after the school bell, if not then at least a 30 min wait).
There's still time to join our What is PDA? live online course next Friday (14th July) where parents, carers and professionals can learn about #PDA and the approaches that are helpful. Includes a Q&A with PDA adult @RikoRyuki. Final few tickets available: https://t.co/UqaLfzCekN
