Apple should have made a car.
They've run out of form factors to shove iOS onto. I've got a watch, phone, and a laptop. Most of my family has the same, plus some iPads. All of these things are typically within 20 feet of you at home, and can do everything this device can do.
So now Seattle is in second-to-last place in VC deals.
It's an improvement, I guess. 😂😂😂
I used to have tons of haters defending the @MayorofSeattle Katie Wilson and @WAStateGov Bob Ferguson and their damaging policies in the replies. But in a few short months, their defenders are 100% gone.
All of them. Not a peep.
The data is so obviously bad that there is no way to pretend their socialist policies work. They don't.
Jobs and companies keep fleeing the state. Every 5th house on Mercer Island is for sale. The rich can't leave fast enough. Property values are down 10% to 20% or more if you own a condo in the Interbay. Ouch, sorry.
Like I said last time, I don't want to be right about this stuff. But anyway, we had a great summer, comrades, didn't we?

Congrats to Emerald City.
Seattle is now in last place among VC-backed startups in Q1 2026 in terms of deal count. And in seventh place in terms of deal value.
So when people here tell you that the dumb taxes, the stupid socialism, and the BS anti-data-center and anti-AI policies aren't having an impact, you can show them this chart and tell them to STFU.
Look, it's not like I want to be right about this stuff. But anyway, enjoy the beautiful Seattle summer, comrades.

@scottwsu81 I figured his experience at Boise State and Missouri was pretty good. Add in the family football heritage and local connection and it’s a good story. What other coaches would you rather have?
