More than 700 reported fires in the Sepulveda Basin over the past year and a half, most caused by the homeless. Local residents fed up. Firefighters are too.
There are more than 1M Californians out of work and out of respect to them, I would ask that the Governor’s office spend more time implementing Prop 36 and other much-needed reforms instead of trolling employers.
Two Firefighters killed by sniper fire while responding to fire on Canfield Mountain in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Praying for their families and everyone impacted by this ongoing tragedy.

We mourn the loss of active-duty @losangelesfiredepartment Firefighter/Paramedic Christian Gassler on June 21, 2025. Christian was a true servant to this city and our country. May he rest in peace. Semper Fi.
It is outrageous that the City Council has scheduled, on just 24-hour notice, a “Special Meeting” for Friday at 5:00pm in the Valley to hear Chief Crowley’s appeal of her dismissal as Fire Chief.
This is an example of why the public doesn’t trust City Hall and the constant missteps that we have seen our city leaders make since the fires broke out on January 7th. This is not transparent, fair, or just. It’s yet another public blunder coming out of City Hall that makes the people of Los Angeles continue to question the motives and trustworthiness of our city’s leaders.
Despite the manufactured reasons that have been publicly offered for her termination, the reality is Kristin Crowley was fired for telling the truth.
Our rank-and-file firefighters on the ground strongly support Chief Crowley. They know the truth, we have her back, and we will fight for her right to set the record straight.
This is the first City Council meeting that we are aware of, perhaps ever, that has been scheduled on 24-hour notice for a Friday at 5:00pm. It’s obvious that some on the City Council are attempting to bury this issue when nobody is watching and holding them accountable. City Council Members will have to ask themselves if this is the way they want to decide the fate of our Fire Chief. What’s happening is wrong, and everyone knows it.
This morning, UFLAC President Freddy Escobar, LA City Councilwoman @TraciParkforLA, and LA City Councilwoman @MRodCD7 all joined the @KTLAMorningNews to speak out about the unwarranted termination of @LAFD Fire Chief Crowley. This city has many, many problems. Chief Crowley wasn't one of them.
We thank all of you who have reached out to express your support. We see you and we'll remember you.
United Firefighters of Los Angeles City strongly oppose the termination of @LAFD Fire Chief Crowley.
Chief Crowley is a strong leader who has the respect of our firefighters and wasn’t afraid to tell the truth. She’s being made a scapegoat from a devastating fire without the benefit of a full investigation into what actually happened.
The reality is our fire department has been understaffed and under resourced for years – including during @MayorOfLA’ time in office. The LAFD did have operational budget cuts in this fiscal year, including cuts to overtime, brush clearance, and civilian positions. In fact, we still have nearly 100 broken down fire engines, trucks, and ambulances in the maintenance yard because of civilian mechanic job cuts. This is a city that has neglected its fire department and can’t even pay our firefighters correctly for the work that we perform every single day.
Our firefighters did their job during the Palisades Fire against enormous obstacles. Not enough firefighters, not enough working rigs, broken down fire hydrants and a water supply that ran dry. All of this occurred, yet the fire chief is being singled out and has been made the scapegoat.
Our firefighters and paramedics stand united on this issue. Terminating Chief Crowley was wrong. #LAFD
At least six @LAFD Firefighters lost their homes in the current fires. This has not been about one budget or even one Mayor. Our #firefighters have been speaking about staffing issues and a lack of investment in the @LAFD for years. Thank you @TraciParkforLA and a few others who listened and acted with urgency from day one. Sadly, not enough people paid attention. @wolfblitzer@andersoncooper@AC360@CNN #PacificPalisadesFire
SFFD has just sent a Type 1 Strike Team consisting of 22 firefighters to the Palisades Fire in Southern California. We are always ready and available to assist our partnering agencies in events like this. #SFFD#PalisadesWildfire
Firefighters continue to battle multiple fires throughout Los Angeles County, with over 10,000 acres in burned #PacificPalisades, over 10,000 acres burned in the #Altadena and #Pasadena areas and over 500 acres burned in #Sylmar. Mandatory evacuation orders are in effect. If you are not in the evacuation area but are near to it, we ask you to please be prepared. We were blessed to have LA fire and police depts doing their jobs so well. We are safe and out. There are several elementary schools in our neighborhood and there was an enormous community effort to evacuate the children safely. Can not speak more highly of the LA fire and LAPD.
Every politician who said, "We're going to end homelessness in "x" years should be fired. It's worth noting that the #1 states for homelessness per capita are California, Oregon, and Washington, where Progressives have been in charge for a decade.

Four years ago George Gascón sadly became the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Today he’s officially GONE. He’s out of office.
George-I hope you hear me-I’m still standing. I’m still here. I am and always will be a proud Deputy District Attorney. Honor above all else.
It was never your office George. It was always the People’s.
Today, Engine 28, which protects North Beach, saved a family's day and Thanksgiving.
Two blocks from the Fire Station, a family had an oven fire and couldn’t cook their Thanksgiving meal, including the turkey. The crew at Station 28 offered to cook the Turkey and, a few hours later, delivered a perfectly cooked Turkey Meal to the appreciative family.

San Francisco Firefighters Local 798 brings joy to San Francisco kids each year through their annual toy drive. I stopped by today to drop off some toys and see them in action. This is a powerful example of how we can all make a difference.
