A breastfeeding Ambazonian woman has come forward, testifying that she was raped at gunpoint by Cameroonian Barbarians forces, despite them being aware of her breastfeeding a baby. These incidents are part of a broader pattern of human rights abuses and sexual violence perpetrated by colonial government forces in the conflict.
Rape has been used as a weapon of war, terrorizing local communities and violating women and girls with impunity. The Cameroon government's approach to the conflict has been criticized for its reliance on military force and disinformation, rather than addressing the root causes of the conflict and working towards a peaceful resolution.

The international community has been called upon to take action in response to these atrocities and to support efforts to hold those responsible accountable. AGovC Advances Diplomatic Momentum in Washington, DC: A Historic Engagement with U.S. Lawmakers

The Ambazonia Governing Council (AGovC) has taken a significant diplomatic leap forward following a series of high-level engagements with U.S. Senators and Congresspersons in Washington, DC, from February 6-13, 2025. These meetings mark a crucial step in solidifying international support for Ambazonia’s struggle for independence.

On February 6, AGovC USA Mission Chairman Louis Mbandi and HHS Secretary Raymond Akoson met with U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at a private gathering hosted by AGovC’s lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies (MGS). This meeting set the tone for a week of strategic diplomatic discussions.

On February 12, HHS Secretary Raymond Akoson engaged in a private lunch with Congressman Tom Kean (R-NJ), a key member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where critical issues concerning Ambazonia’s independence were discussed.

On February 13, USA Mission Chairman Louis Mbandi, HHS Secretary Raymond Akoson, and DC-based AGovC supporter Martin Ayaba had scheduled meetings with 11 U.S. Senators. Despite unforeseen circumstances, the team successfully met with four influential senators, including Senator Bill Haggerty (R-TN), Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH), and Senator Steve Daines (R-MT). These engagements underscored AGovC’s unwavering commitment to ensuring Ambazonia’s plight remains a priority on the U.S. legislative agenda.

That same day, the AGovC delegation, alongside the Acting Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), Ogechukwu Nkere, met with the office of Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) in a joint effort to strengthen transnational alliances among liberation movements.

Throughout these meetings, AGovC representatives delivered in-depth briefings on the ongoing struggle for Ambazonia’s independence and made a compelling case for U.S. support. The responses received were encouraging, reinforcing AGovC’s diplomatic traction. The delegation also held critical strategy sessions with AGovC’s lobbyists, former Congressman Jim Moran and Elias Gerasoulis, and engaged with other MGS clients, including the Acting Prime Minister of the BRGIE and the President of the National Representative Council of Eritrea-Government in Exile, Ghebre Bahdurai.

This landmark engagement signals AGovC’s growing diplomatic influence and unwavering commitment to securing international recognition for Ambazonia. The AGovC remains resolute in its mission and looks forward to continued direct engagements with senior U.S. officials.
