While support for psychedelics is still largely bipartisan, the balance of support seems to be shifting from left to right. Some things to consider:

1: the people Trump is surrounding himself with (Vivek, Elon, RFK) all seem to be pro-psychedelic.

2: "Big Pharma = bad / SSRI's = bad" is an increasingly right-wing view (accelerated by COVID / Vaccine discourse and by "guns don't cause school shootings, kids on SSRIs do" talking points)

3: the anti-Lykos voices came largely from the left, not from Bible thumping, anti-drug conservatives like one might have guessed

4: FDA first issued breakthrough therapy for MDMA and Psilocybin under Trump

5: "Heal Veterans with PTSD" is very popular on the right

All that said, psychedelics were not on either candidates' top priorities list, and I hope that the FDA makes decisions based on science, not politics.

Washington is now worrying about @RobertKennedyJr. The view is that he cant win the electoral college, but he is profoundly impacting the race both through ideas and by pulling large numbers of voters away from both Trump and Biden. He has the highest approval ratings and is out fundraising the rest. He is attracting all those who can’t bear Trump or Biden. I disagree with the Washington establishment about how many independents there are now in America. Most say 8%, but I think thats an old number based on old methods. The polls show as much as 49% to 65% now identify as independent.
