The Chariot That Explains the Entire Human Mind (Kaṭha Upanishad)… 😱

In the Kaṭha Upanishad, Yama teaches Nachiketa one of the most profound models of human psychology ever described... the Chariot Analogy. In just a few verses, it explains the relationship between the body, mind, intellect, senses, and the Self.

> The body is the chariot. The Ātman is the master of the chariot. The intellect (Buddhi) is the charioteer, while the mind (Manas) serves as the reins that guide the journey.

> The senses are the horses, constantly pulling toward their respective objects. The roads they travel are the objects of the senses... the sights, sounds, tastes, touches, and smells of the world.

> If the intellect lacks discrimination and the mind fails to control the senses, the horses run wild. The individual becomes driven by impulse, desire, and distraction, losing sight of the true destination.

> But when the intellect is wise, the mind is steady, and the senses are disciplined, the journey remains under control. The chariot reaches its highest goal... the realization of the Self.

> The Kaṭha Upanishad teaches that liberation does not depend on suppressing the senses. It depends on placing every part of the inner instrument under the guidance of wisdom.

The problem is not the horses... It is whether the charioteer is awake.

One of the worst trends in modern cars has to be the white LED headlights.

Even with my stock headlights, I could barely see the road ahead on both low beam and high beam. At the same time, oncoming traffic kept flashing me, assuming my lights were too bright, while I myself couldn’t see properly.

The white light reflects more off road signs, rain, and dust, often reducing actual visibility.

This is exactly why the old yellow halogen headlights were so effective they offered better contrast and visibility in real-world driving conditions.

I genuinely wonder why there isn’t more research or discussion highlighting this issue!! ☺️

पुलिसकर्मी के आकस्मिक निधन पर परिजनों को तत्काल ₹3 लाख की सहायता

जयपुर, 30 जून। पुलिस की वर्दी केवल कानून-व्यवस्था बनाए रखने का प्रतीक नहीं है, बल्कि उसके पीछे ऐसे हजारों परिवारों का विश्वास, त्याग और धैर्य भी जुड़ा होता है, जो हर दिन अपने प्रियजन को समाज की सुरक्षा के लिए समर्पित करते हैं। ऐसे में यदि किसी पुलिसकर्मी के साथ कोई अप्रत्याशित घटना घट जाए तो सबसे बड़ा आघात उसके परिवार पर पड़ता है। इसी मानवीय संवेदना को केंद्र में रखते हुए सवाई माधोपुर की पुलिस अधीक्षक सुश्री ज्येष्ठा मैत्रेयी ने पुलिस कल्याण की दिशा में एक ऐसी पहल की है, जो संवेदनशील पुलिसिंग का प्रेरक उदाहरण बनकर उभरी है। उनके नेतृत्व में शुरू किया गया 'अक्षय फंड' अब संकट की घड़ी में पुलिस परिवारों के लिए एक मजबूत आर्थिक संबल बनेगा।

एक संवेदनशील सोच से मिली नई शुरुआत:
पुलिस संगठन अपने कर्मियों को केवल सहकर्मी नहीं, बल्कि एक परिवार मानता है। इसी भावना को और सशक्त बनाने के उद्देश्य से 'अक्षय फंड' की स्थापना की गई है। यह पहल इस विश्वास को मजबूत करती है कि पुलिसकर्मी चाहे किसी भी परिस्थिति में हों, उनका परिवार कभी अकेला नहीं रहेगा।

कांस्टेबल कुंजीलाल की स्मृति से जन्मी पहल:
एसपी ज्येष्ठा मैत्रेयी ने बताया कि हाल ही में सवाई माधोपुर पुलिस लाइन में कार्यरत कांस्टेबल श्री कुंजीलाल के आकस्मिक निधन ने पूरे पुलिस परिवार को भावुक कर दिया। इस घटना ने यह आवश्यकता महसूस कराई कि ऐसी परिस्थितियों में पीड़ित परिवार को तत्काल आर्थिक सहायता उपलब्ध कराने के लिए एक स्थायी और व्यवस्थित व्यवस्था होनी चाहिए। इसी विचार ने 'अक्षय फंड' का स्वरूप लिया। उन्होंने बताया कि वर्तमान में जिले में लगभग 1400 पुलिसकर्मी कार्यरत है और अनुमानत: 16 लाख रुपया इस फंड में एकत्र हो सकता है।

साथियों के सहयोग से तैयार होगा सुरक्षा कवच:
एसपी ज्येष्ठा मैत्रेयी की पहल पर सवाई माधोपुर जिला पुलिस के सभी अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों के एक दिन के वेतन के स्वैच्छिक अंशदान से इस फंड का गठन किया जाएगा। यह केवल आर्थिक सहयोग नहीं, बल्कि अपने साथी और उसके परिवार के प्रति अपनत्व, उत्तरदायित्व और एकजुटता का जीवंत उदाहरण है।

संकट की घड़ी में मिलेगा तत्काल सहारा:
'अक्षय फंड' के माध्यम से यदि किसी पुलिसकर्मी का आकस्मिक निधन होता है, तो उसके परिजनों को ₹3 लाख की आर्थिक सहायता तत्काल उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। यह सहायता शोकाकुल परिवार को कठिन समय में प्रारंभिक आर्थिक राहत प्रदान करेगी और उन्हें यह भरोसा दिलाएगी कि उनका पुलिस परिवार हर परिस्थिति में उनके साथ खड़ा है।

आत्मनिर्भर व्यवस्था, दीर्घकालिक सुरक्षा:
इस योजना की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता इसकी व्यावहारिक और आत्मनिर्भर कार्यप्रणाली है। फंड बनने के बाद जब तक उसकी राशि सहायता के रूप में उपयोग नहीं हो जाती, तब तक किसी भी कार्मिक के वेतन से पुनः कटौती नहीं की जाएगी। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर ही पुनः एक दिन के वेतन का स्वैच्छिक अंशदान लिया जाएगा। इससे योजना निरंतर चलती रहेगी और कर्मचारियों पर अतिरिक्त आर्थिक भार भी नहीं पड़ेगा।

पुलिस परिवारों में बढ़ेगा विश्वास और मनोबल:
यह पहल केवल आर्थिक सहयोग तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि पुलिस संगठन के भीतर विश्वास, आत्मीयता और पारिवारिक भावना को भी नई मजबूती प्रदान करेगी। इससे प्रत्येक पुलिसकर्मी अपने कर्तव्य का निर्वहन और अधिक निश्चिंत होकर कर सकेगा, क्योंकि उसे यह विश्वास रहेगा कि विपरीत परिस्थितियों में उसका परिवार अकेला नहीं छोड़ा जाएगा।

संवेदना, सहयोग और सामाजिक सुरक्षा का संगम:
'अक्षय फंड' पुलिस संगठन की उस कार्यसंस्कृति का परिचायक है, जहाँ संवेदना और सहयोग केवल शब्द नहीं, बल्कि व्यवहार का हिस्सा हैं। यह पहल पुलिस कल्याण, सामाजिक सुरक्षा और मानवीय मूल्यों का ऐसा संगम है, जो संगठन के भीतर आत्मविश्वास और पारस्परिक विश्वास को और अधिक मजबूत करेगा।

प्रदेशभर के लिए बन सकता है अनुकरणीय मॉडल:
एसपी ज्येष्ठा मैत्रेयी की यह अभिनव पहल पुलिस महकमे में व्यापक सराहना का विषय बनी हुई है। यह केवल सवाई माधोपुर जिला पुलिस का कल्याणकारी प्रयास नहीं, बल्कि ऐसा मॉडल है जिसे भविष्य में राजस्थान के अन्य जिलों में भी अपनाया जा सकता है। यह पहल इस संदेश को सशक्त करती है कि खाकी केवल कानून की संरक्षक नहीं, बल्कि अपने परिवार की संवेदनाओं की भी सच्ची प्रहरी है।
