@Cubbies818@jacksettleman Accents, cuisine, religion, ethnic background, migration patterns, laws, history, etc. all place Kentucky as firmly southern.
@S_Beasley@DavisMullvain There’s a few SEC series that played yearly from (at least) the early 60s until 2002. UF-Aub and UK-LSU are others like UGA-OM.
@gwilkie80 This response reeks of Big10 cope. Only the SEC paid players under the table, only the SEC poached and destabilized other conferences, and only the SEC is trying to setup unfair rules for itself. Reality says the Big10 has been just as guilty if not more in all these accusations.
@PeteSchrock@ih8yourteam What’s annoying is that IU fans (and the head coach) act like the program is among big dawgs in CFB (because it is) but refuse to admit it still schedules like they’ll struggle to be 6-6 with a Guaranteed Rate Bowl appearance.
Point is that Clemson is (was) a good program with a routinely weak conference slate that supplements it with good OOC opponents, and Indiana (under Cig) is a good program with a routinely weak conference slate that schedules cupcakes to waltz their way to a good record and playoff appearance. I don’t blame IU for it as they should use every advantage available, but it is cowardly, disappointing that it works, and worse for the sport that more teams are likely to follow suit.
@PeteSchrock@ih8yourteam This is a conversation about the games teams control on their schedule. Clemson is a terrible comparison; they face similar complaints about easy schedules, but always have two P4 non-con games. Outside of the yearly Clemson-SC game, they’ve played UGA, LSU, ND, Texas A&M, etc.
@DarthEnvy777@ExpectedChop You can’t blame 1 game in a 162 game season. The Cubs had 78 other losses that season that could have been wins and gotten them in the playoffs. Being crap throughout September is what ultimately lost them the playoff spot.
@DarthEnvy777@ExpectedChop Exactly, even more reason it’s dumb to say THIS is what kept the Cubs out of the playoffs. Truth is they just weren’t good enough for October that year.
@DarthEnvy777@ExpectedChop The Cubs were 7-14 over the final 3 weeks of that season. I’d say lack of performance the entire month had a much larger impact than the Braves celebrating Acuña.
@IronTeawrecks@real_chris_p@JoshPateCFB This game was closer than the final score shows. UK had 4 TOs on their last 5 drives and bama took advantage and drove up the score off short fields.
@MattFromSMM@WhittEllsworth@BarstoolKU Just making sure people understand timeline. Your original post was unclear, and the Civil War is one of the biggest victims of Dunning-Kruger.
