@RepAbeHamadeh@AbrahamHamadeh Happiest birthday Congressman. Amazing accomplishments and only 35. You’re an inspiration for our young generation. God bless you🎈🎈🎉🎉
At the Council, we are focused on one thing and one thing only: the economy.
Commerce reigns where diplomacy hesitates—and by helping responsibly facilitate Syria’s economic recovery, we’re building the commercial foundation for long-term U.S.–Syria stability.
#EconomicEngagement
USSBC met with Mr. Omar Al-Housari, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Mr. Al-Housari welcomed the Council’s efforts and expressed his appreciation for its role in supporting Syria’s national economy.
The USSBC delegation met with the Damascus Chamber of Industry - an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the future of U.S.-Syria economic relations.
I encourage @bisgov@CommerceGov to move quickly to implement President Trump’s Executive Order and finally completely lift the export controls on Syria.
Leaving these export controls on the books only benefits China.
President Trump’s vision is clear and should not be further delayed!
Facilitated by the U.S.-Syria Business Council, in a rare and historic moment, U.S. @RepAbeHamadeh
traveled to Damascus for a focused six-hour visit to meet with Interim Syria President Ahmad Al-Sharaa and Syria’s Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.
In President Ayman Maoulawi office, the USSBC and Damascus Chamber leadership exchanged symbolic gifts - a gesture underscoring shared intent to build trust, exchange expertise, and work towards reciprocal tariff reforms.
USSBC’s @SameerSaboungi and Chamber President Ayman Maoulawi sealed their commitment to corporation with a handshake.
Together, they discussed ways to modernize Syria’s tariff structure, improve market access for both nation.
Concluding the meeting, USSBC members @jaysalkini@basselojjeh@abdul_akel joined Chamber President Ayman Maoulawi in reaffirming a shared vision: tariff alignment, industrial modernization, and stronger direct trade.
@Charles_Lister All of this without the latest advance technology and intelligence data. Syria’s new government has proven they are not going to stand idle - imagine if they were provided with proper tools (sitting in warehouses nearby collecting dust) what a game changer it would be.
Great meeting you, @USAMBTurkiye
Appreciate your forward-thinking discussion and strong support for U.S. companies driving innovation & infrastructure.
Proud that Tecore is leading in Syria with the first 5G deployments — building reliable networks where they’re needed most.
Great to meet the team from @TecoreNetworks yesterday! Syrian-American businesses are flooding back into the country now that @POTUS has ordered the cessation of sanctions. Re-building Syria’s telecommunications infrastructure is crucial to helping all Syrians benefit from the regeneration and rejuvenation of their historic culture. Commerce over chaos!
