Not breaking news here, but people have way too low a threshold for citing academic work that flatters their preconceptions. Doing good research is hard. The median paper is mediocre, leaves out lots of confounders and complications, and shouldn't change your priors much.

@lex_node @OxSifu That said, I hope that the decision to open an adult swim lane wouldn't be left in the hands of a regulator. It would represent a sea change in US cap markets policy historically across both R and D adminis, so I'd think it should be debated/assessed across the electorate.

@lex_node @OxSifu I hope/expect that in the long run, the adult swim lane will launch business models/technologies that will make legitimate economic contributions that wouldn't have been possible in the curated lane because they were too experimental.
