@dismal_niche@SchizoLLC@_Shahin I think you both might benefit from reading how those public pension funds actually invest and their legacy of shareholder activism with various hedge funds.

@sf_mills Yeah, as previously discussed, there are many secondary markets in which he can sell his shares.
In fact, it became a necessity for Stripe because they "missed" the IPO "window" and employees will only hang around so long to get paid from their stock grants.
It's a falsehood.
@sf_mills I'm hoping I can ask him in a public forum if his Stripe stock is in a RothIRA (Peter Thiel's favorite tax dodge)
But yeah, if I compared him to David Sacks in terms of getting lucky in Silicon Valley's "lottery" and public service would I be far off the mark?
@JunkScience Pyrosilviculture is what's needed.
Managed by a well staffed, well funded and accountable agency.
Not some awful half-assed cronyism.
Nobody wants logging or destruction hidden behind layers of liability and corporate cowardice.
@loomdoop One of them called me recently and couldn't tell me:
a) how much he was worth via his employee #3* Stripe stock options (most tech bros could guess)
b) if those options were in a RothIRA (Peter Thiel's infamous tax dodging strategy).

@gilduran76 We've been engaging with "AI"/ML for a long time. The paradigm shift is people now imbue "intelligence" because the machine responds in a novel fashion.
Meanwhile corporations add lengthy disclaimers to their AI products being "for entertainment" only (MSFT).
Caveat Emptor.
@ConnectedSF@sfboehner More than the number of neighborhood groups in your coalition.
FWIW - "11" isn't very many in a city with over 40 neighborhoods and arguably 90 sub-neighborhoods.
I wouldn't advertise that. Makes you look weak and petty.
@Cosmic_Scr@SF2Maui@matthewstoller Parental controls like Screen Time, Family Link, Family Safety are a burdensome joke that confound even the most tech savvy parents.
Highly recommend surveying parents you know for usage and read up on the products utility and frustrations on reddit.
They are charity features.
