Cracking game for multiplication! Split class into three teams then relay race until the multiplication wheel is complete! I recommend using it as a finisher! #acuedu_p

Yesterday, my supervising teacher read this book during literacy and students were looking for tier 2 words. It’s amazing to see Indigenous perspectives being brought into the classroom, which enables students to gain a better understanding of Indigenous histories. #acuedu_p

Today my class and I did an investigation on measurement using informal units! I first used a giant footprint to model perimeter, length and width. The students then measured their own using different units and recorded their results in a table so we could compare #acuedu_p

An interesting method of managing classroom interruptions- students silently use hand signals to indicate what they need, and the teacher can simply nod yes or no. It avoids the verbal ‘I need to go to the toilet’ and the 100 other ‘me too’s that follow. #acuedu_p

Having a sensory/quiet corner in the classroom for students to go to in order to calm down, do some quiet reading or just relax and recenter themselves is a huge asset for both the students and the teacher. #acuedu_p

Covering a 'daily review' of previously learnt topics in subjects like maths and english, allows students to keep old learning experiences in their working memory. This can help students retain the knowledge better, and allows them to access their knowledge easier. #acuedu_p

In my year 4 prac class, we explored the difference between a fixed and a growth mindset. Displaying some of the examples we came up with, has helped to reinforce positive thinking towards the challenges we face. For every mistake, there is an opportunity to grow! #ACUedu_p
