A Tale of Two Videos: (Correction to our last post to clarify that the claims against President Tinubu are alleged.)
After boasting that Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) would be seated very close to President @realDonaldTrump, the Nigerian Ambassador to the @UN, @JimohIbrahimCFR, has come up with a new excuse for why President Tinubu did not attend the UN General Assembly.
Here are the facts: Despite a reported $9 million in lobbying, a massive smear campaign to harm our credibility before decision-makers, and $700 billion in Nigerian mines, President #Tinubu did not attend the UN General Assembly because his planned meeting and photo op with President Trump were reportedly canceled, and President Tinubu is deemed a liability to the United States.
President Bola Tinubu was allegedly part of a criminal organization that smuggled #heroin (poison) from Nigeria into the United States during the 1980s and 1990s. If true, he is truly a Jeffrey Epstein-level liability to the integrity of the United States and must not be allowed anywhere close to President #Trump.

The Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's APC (@officialABAT) has refuses to come to attend this week's @UN General Assembly but assigned his vice president to lead the delegates to @UN General Assembly
We have given Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) permission to attend this week’s @UN General Assembly. Any talk that he will be arrested by U.S. authorities is false. President Tinubu, you have our word.

Look at the pump. Look at the market. Look at the shop that closed last month.
That is the 2023 experiment talking. ₦1,400 a litre did not stay at the filling station. It followed food. It followed transport. It followed insecurity.
Nigeria does not need another lecture. It needs the cost to fall.
That is the Atiku plan. Fuel down. Food down. Movement cheaper.
Rotimi Amaechi is on that ticket for a reason. Militancy and the waterways are not slogans to him. They are work he has done.

Mr Laolu Akande (@akandeoj) and Channels Television (@channelstv) were dragged into repeating false information by the Nigerian Presidency (@officialABAT), (@oofficialAPCNg) or other without first independently verifying the subject matter
STATEMENT FROM DR. KARL VON BATTEN RE: CASE NO. 1:26-cv-03209
This is Dr. Von Batten. I have reviewed the latest attack video, and while I am not excusing what was broadcast, I am prepared to consider the possibility that Mr. Laolu Akande (@akandeoj) and Channels Television (@channelstv) were dragged into repeating false information by the Nigerian Presidency (@OfficialABAT), @OfficialAPCNg, or others, without first independently verifying it. For that reason, I am giving Mr. Akande and Channels an opportunity to redeem themselves and demonstrate that they are prepared to practice true journalism.
I will grant Mr. Akande an in-person, off-camera interview in Washington, D.C., or New York. I will provide access to the underlying evidence, including my academic records and degrees, presidential appointment documentation, and other documents directly relevant to the claims made about me. I will also authorize Columbia University, A.T. Still University, the University of Oxford, and other relevant institutions to verify the information directly. Ask the difficult questions. Examine the documents. Contact the institutions. Verify everything independently.
Mr. Akande has until Monday, September 21, at 12:00 noon ET to accept this offer by contacting my assistant and arranging the interview. Decline the opportunity if you choose. But if you continue publishing or broadcasting these allegations after being offered direct access to the subject, the underlying documents, and independent institutional verification, you should be prepared to explain in US federal court why you chose not to examine that evidence.

If there is one state in Nigeria that introduced accountability and transparency into security management, it is Kaduna State under Nasir @elrufai, I have researched the security reports available in the public domain.
I humbly encourage anyone interested in knowing the truth and the facts to search the social media accounts of the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, relevant media websites and credible media archives. You will find what I found. The records are there for comparison.
On 1 March 2020, bandits attacked Kerawa village in Igabi Local Government Area. Forty-one bodies were buried in Kerawa alone, while local accounts later placed the total death toll at 71. The victims were predominantly Muslim Hausa-Fulani - El-Rufai’s supposed “kinsmen.” Yet nobody accused him of deliberately killing them or planning their deaths. There were many other bandit attacks in Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Giwa, Zaria and Kubau.
In a photograph taken in Kerawa that I found online, El-Rufai can be seen alongside the then General Officer Commanding 1 Division, General Faruk Yahaya, who later became Chief of Army Staff, and the then Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Mr Balarabe Abbas Lawal, who is now President Bola Tinubu’s Minister of Environment.
Why, then, are attacks in Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Kubau, Zaria and Giwa blamed on bandits, while attacks in Southern Kaduna are blamed personally on the former governor?
El-Rufai may be criticised by his political opponents over other matters, including his style of governance, but he should not be accused of conspiracy without evidence. Anyone - including the Minister of Defence - who alleges that he planned killings must produce evidence. Otherwise, it amounts to selective outrage, political blackmail and defamation.
When Channels Television presenter Seun Okinbaloye asked the Minister of Defence to substantiate his allegation that El-Rufai was involved in planning killings in Southern Kaduna, his answer was simply that the evidence was “there on YouTube.”
That is not good enough for an allegation of such gravity. The Minister should identify the particular video(s) or other evidence he is relying on and explain how it proves El-Rufai’s involvement. Until he produces verifiable evidence, the allegation should not be presented as fact.
More than three years after El-Rufai left office, Punch reported on 28 July 2026 that bandits had killed 30 villagers in Naridon village, in the Kauru area of Southern Kaduna.
Nor was the Naridon attack an isolated incident. Communities in Kachia, Kajuru, Kauru, Kagarko, Sanga, Chikun and Zangon Kataf have continued to suffer repeated attacks, killings and kidnappings.
According to SBM Intelligence’s 2026 report, Kaduna ranked fourth nationwide, recording 134 kidnapping incidents involving 814 victims between July 2025 and June 2026.
Before then, on 12 March 2024, Vanguard reported that about 61 people had been abducted by bandits the previous day in Buda community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna.
On Sunday, 7 September 2025, Zagazola reported that armed bandits had attacked Wake village in the Agunu Ward of Kachia Local Government Area earlier that day, killing eight people and leaving at least 20 others wounded.
On 13 July 2026, Sahara Reporters reported that armed bandits had abducted at least 17 people and injured one person in a series of attacks on communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna.
Why were neither the present governor nor the Minister of Defence blamed for any of these incidents? We can all see the selective outrage.
