The concerns by citizens from across the political spectrum re: hyperscale data centers are rooted in distrust of these Big Tech titans and their designs on expanding tech power over the citizenry. It’s not just — or even mainly — about concerns about water and power usage.
Bernie Sanders: "Build one near Mar-a-Lago!"
Currently, there are roughly a dozen existing data centers in Palm Beach County, where Mar-a-Lago is located.
Look, you guys can’t bitch about the price of beef then get mad when we import more beef to remedy the temporary high prices. Cows don’t grow on trees or tweets
This is exactly what I've been saying. Governor DeSantis made sure the issues Republicans care about were made law. One person cannot change them alone. It takes a majority vote in both the House and the Senate to do so. EOs cannot be used to get around that.
Democrat Jolly is much less likely to be successful in any attempt to change the law because the Republican legislature will oppose him. Donalds would have a much easier time and he is squishy on things such as abortion and amnesty for illegals.
🚨 The U.S. administration has designated Hezbollah as an organization under the command of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, defining it as an Iranian rather than a Lebanese organization. Implication: All sanctions on the Revolutionary Guard will apply equally to Hezbollah.
Going from Ron DeSantis to Donalds (or Jolly) is going to be a brutal downgrade for Floridians.
The good news is that Ron DeSantis can run for governor again in four years (if he isn't already in another job 😉).
Governor DeSantis won’t say if he will be joining Byron Donalds on the campaign trail.
Says he will be working as Governor of Florida “until the lights go out”.
Oh Jesus Christ the GOP now has a +50000 voter registration advantage in Miami-Dade and we have a DSA Senate candidate
Are we just trying to get Hispanics in Florida voting +50 Republican or something, so that Florida can single-handedly keep the Dems from winning the House ever again after 2030 redistricting?
Governor DeSantis says don’t believe the BS from local officials and their lobbyists about property taxes.
DeSantis says the police and fire will be funded just fine and if a rural county needs extra they will take it from Florida’s $18 Billion budget surplus.
Florida teachers are walking away from their union.
FEA lost 28,063 members since 2020 — nearly 1 in 5.
Its own filings show:
🔴 $11.5M went to staff compensation
🔴 45.2% went to NEA/AFT
🔴 Only14.6% went to representation
Teachers are asking whether membership is worth the price.
We have the receipts.
