@gldivittorio Any dem was going to win in 2008. McCain was screwed by the disasters of the second Bush term. Obama didn’t hit on all his promises in the 1st term, so there was a belief Romney could win it. Also Romney destroyed Obama in the first debate
@Ivdown12@johnsaponaro What’s the point in being a fan when you know you have 0 chance to ever win a WS because your owner is the “poorest” owner in the sport
@DocEllisd23@bravesbp@JoshChavis65 Because some owners will still have more money than others. Revenue can be split, but that doesn’t stop a super wealthy owner from using personal finances to better his team. Ohtani can make 70 mil still. He just won’t be on the same team as 12 other all stars
@BMeek23@vancemeek@MLBPA Ohtani is making more money than Bob Castellini is even worth. It’s not a cheapskate. It’s a “poor” owner. (Relatively speaking of course), and no TV money. Sharing money will help, which is what I want most of this deal. Split the tv pot to help us poor cincy folk 😂
@BMeek23@vancemeek@MLBPA Just a real shame that Reds fans are having to debate when to trade elly. Similar to Chicago with Murikawi, Pittsburg with skenes, etc.
@BMeek23@vancemeek@MLBPA No other pro sport league has team success dictated 100% by how rich an owner is. MLB shouldn’t either. My 400
Million dollar reds owner can’t do what the multibillion dollar dodgers owners are doing. Not fair to the fans. Idc about owners or players. Fans make or break a league
@JDPowPow@mikemayer22@MarkMel06909928 Yep exactly. And the way to do that is better revenue sharing to help the teams with an owner that isn’t a multi billionaire. And then force said owner to spend the money he gets
@JDPowPow@mikemayer22@MarkMel06909928 The point is that people hates the Yankees for being rich, but their “rich” is chump change to how the dodgers are operating.
@JDPowPow@mikemayer22@MarkMel06909928 Yep. Baseball survived so long without a hard cap because it was possible to be competitive. The gap wasnt as big. The 2000s Yankees were signing A-Rod and a few aging vets. The dodgers are doing the equivalent of signing A-Rod, Pudge, Ortiz, Pedro, Schilling, and Clemens
@mikemayer22@MarkMel06909928@JDPowPow IMO, this will be the first CBA negotiation where yes, the majority will be on the owners side. People hate the dodgers man.
