@ArtistAffame I remember crying when the one onion I had bought (couldn’t afford the bag) for the healthy dinner I wanted to make was rotten in the middle. If you haven’t experienced poverty you should listen, not lecture.
Y’all — there is a Royal Caribbean cruise that’s 9 months long and going to all 7 continents. It cost somewhere between 50k and 120k to sail. I’ve spent hours going down the rabbit hole trying to get all the tea and a bunch of mess has already started 😳
@_AbelThaGoat_ @ask_aubry My ex asked me what I was cooking for dinner after he had literally picked me up from a shopping centre soaked in blood. I’d lost over 2 litres.
@pastore_robin@DrEmmaKatz My abusive ex decided he had to tell my dying mum that I was raped when I was 19. Why? He needed to tell someone and get some support because he was upset about it, apparently.
I would never have told my mum at that point, if ever.
His telling brought back nightmares.
@thejackhopkins There are also people who will treat you terribly in private, but not where there are adult witnesses. People who will be lovely to others, and awful to you. They know exactly what they are doing.
@TheRealHoarse I almost sat down on a death adder in New England many years ago. The only reason I didn’t is the kelpie circled and jumped. I twisted, saw it, and I bolted with the dog.
No phone and far from people, I could easily have died if it had bitten me.
@chubbycommiegal@herosnvrdie69 I knew a woman who worked as an electrical engineer in the mines. Every morning there would be semen on her door from men masturbating on it in the night.
Sound like an equal working environment? It didn’t happen to the male engineers.
@james_e_b_@apsmunro My younger brother caught measles. He had been vaccinated. His fever was high, he was hallucinating, crying that things were crawling on the walls. I (also vaccinated) didn’t catch it from him, but he was sick enough that I still remember it decades later.
@TheRealHoarse I dealt with multiple problems at work that would have stressed me two years ago with only an eyebrow raise and an “uh oh.” getting my old self back, it’s great.
@tanyashadrick It’s lovely to be understood.
They look like Yorkshire teacakes, which I learned to make when I still needed a stool to reach the counter. Recipe is similar. I’ll have to have a go.
