@ChicagoDmitry This midfield is not good enough. Henderson is old, Barco is at best a mid-table player, and Lavia is an astonishing liability off the ball. Reece James is going to have to play most games to hold it all together
@ChicagoDmitry Morgan Rogers right? Enzo is an attacking midfielder. He's played enough in a double pivot to know that it doesn't really work. In that sense, therefore, We've already replaced him.
@dieworkwear@trufelman Not philosophy, but you should check out some of the diaries of Mandeville's contemporaries. There is a brilliant passage in James Boswell's London Journal where he decides to downsize his rental house because he couldn't possibly skimp on clothing- everyone saw his clothes.
@DPJHodges Duckett averages 40 opening the batting. Our best since Sir Alistair Cook, in an era where opening is incredibly difficult. I think he's doing alright
@stokaljona He was on Monday Night Football this season and was equally as bad. I can't believe nobody at the BBC thought to screen test him. His agent's played a blinder though
@rlrhino13@martin_clark1@suehard You really should admit that you're wrong. MPs of the governing party are not automatically members of the government. They must be appointed by the King. This is a very basic element of the British constitution. Hence Ministers can be sacked from the government
@tezilyas That's an oddly restricted definition of world class. Are you arguing that in the entire history of football, there have only ever been 55 world class players?
@CVSenescence@si_rubinstein There was a total lack of will to enforce the Versailles peace treaty post-1919. Clemenceau recognised this in 1919. Europe and the US learned from its mistakes post-1945.
@CVSenescence@si_rubinstein Exactly. Giving in to Hitler's continental ambitions would have been against Britain's interests. Ergo not practical. The truly practical option would have been to march against Hitler when he remilitarized the Rhineland in 1936.
@JamesMadeley@HCH_Hill Credit was cheap, 'easy' cuts could be made, the international system remained relatively stable, and public spending was largely maintained. Starmer does not have the same luxuries. Other governments have kicked the can down the road.
@nassaujuan@Fremond_ Tie bars should be worn lower down, given their purpose is to stop the tie flapping around. It's made redundant with a waistcoat, given the waistcoat keeps the tie flat. Although I do agree that a good tie bar is a nice addition to an outfit
