The country expects us to get on with governing. That’s what the Prime Minister is doing.
Our party has a process for triggering a leadership election - that process has not been triggered, nor should it be. It would be playing right into the hands of Farage and Reform.
The idea that a peace process, which affirmed Northern Ireland's place in the UK, ended the "armed struggle" and required the consent of a majority in the North to any changes in its status, constituted "surrendering to the IRA" is just unutterably crass.
I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend.
Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.
So pleased for @MichaelPayneUK @MichelleWelshUK @JamesWNaish@SteveYemm @JulietOCampbell @CllrJoWhite for winning here in Notts and becoming new Labour MPs.
Big love to @Sajidah and @RheaKeehn who have been phenomenal candidates and I’m proud to have campaigned with you.
The Rt Hon Angela Rayner MP @AngelaRayner has been appointed Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities @luhc.
She will also be Deputy Prime Minister.

Britain’s future is on the ballot paper today.
But change will only happen if you vote for it.
Together let’s turn the page on the Tories.
Vote Labour to begin a new chapter. 🗳️🌹
Mel Stride all but concedes the election on @BBCr4today
"Tomorrow is likely to see the largest majority that this country has ever seen… what therefore matters now is what kind of opposition do we have"
