Thrilled our paper is now published in PNAS—thanks to our fantastic team @BU_Biology@BUEarth🥰!!!

If you have plant NLR papers in prep, talk to us about it or directly submit for consideration in our joint special issue☘️. See details below 👇 https://t.co/3yQRTD0qu7
Excited to have this paper published! Here we looked at single-cell responses to virulent Pseudomonas within a leaf, followed by spatial investigation. Collab with
@colepbio @LolleSigne@KvitkoPhD and heavy lifting by Jie Zhu. https://t.co/tlDjW1cF1w
News is out! I am the 2023 recipient of the William Boright Hewitt and Maybelle Ellen Ball Hewitt Award from the American Phytopathological Society -@plantdisease !
This award recognizes a scientist within seven years of receiving a PhD who has made an outstanding and innovative contribution directed towards the control of plant disease.
So many people I have to thank for this! So many institutions that fostered my passion for science and plant pathology in Cuba, Mexico, USA, Canada and Quebec!
I have to specially thank Mauricio Luna, Chrystel Olivier and @DumonceauxTim ! Thank you for the freedom and trust! You made me love science again! Thank to @PetaBS for giving me the opportunity of discovering clubroot, that changed my life! Last but no least, I have to thank to all the members of my team @AnneSo_Brochu@MSilvestreVa@asimjaved777@RashaSalihCA@JiaxuWu6 @sdsmukherjee and more not in here, our many amazing collaborators and colleagues and the incredible funding agencies like @Conacyt_MX@NSERC_CRSNG@canolacouncil@AlbertaCanola @SaskCanola @CanolaGrowers@westerngrains @GenomeQuebec @FRQ_NT@InnovationCA@mapaquebec@RqradQc for working so hard and be always supportive! Finalement je dois remercier l'@universitelaval, @ulcriv et @ibis_laval pour m'avoir donné un foyer permanent où je continuerai à cultiver ma passion pour la phytopathologie!
I would have never imagined this when I left Cuba 10 years ago. I'm proud to be only the 3rd Cuban in the APS history to receive an award, and the first Canadian receiving this particular award!
This is the best birthday ever 🎂

Thrilled to share our mini-review in the special issue of PMPP. We explore the impact of genome variation on plant-fungal interactions and highlight cutting-edge advancements in characterizing the dynamic genome. Kudos to @1DEcook@liu3zhen@JapanUSPlant 📎https://t.co/gsPgo5iHb9
11 of 19 now posted- check out new contributions to the 12th Seminar Proceedings from the groups of @HiroakiAdachi3, Kenro Oshima, Seiji Tsuge, Yasufumi Hichiki, Yoshitaka Takano, Kasumi Takeuchi, @KbYasuyuki, @ADSteinbrenner and more!

@JapanUSPlant@KvitkoPhD Did you know that phytoalexins and NBS-LRRs/ MAPK cascades are not the fastest microbe/insect response? Instead it is the preformed two-compartment compounds like cyanogenics, glucosinolates, etc. This paper is discussion with @KvitkoPhD about alt ideas to classify defense.
Another Proceedings chapter just dropped! A discussion on "Phytoavengins" from @KvitkoPhD and @SpicyBotrytis. If you like avenging, reading this is definitely better than watching Quantumania. 🌱🧪🦸🏽♂️https://t.co/iCsUFat1Fs

The first submission and first acceptance of our upcoming Proceedings of 12th Japan-US Seminar on Plant Pathology, published as a special issue in Phys. Mol. Plant Pathol. More soon to come!
🚨It’s out! 🚨 @JiaxuWu6 and I wrote a short perspective of what we believe should be the future of the #clubroot research, highlighting our project @ClubrootGenoEvo. Thank you @JapanUSPlant & @triplettlr for the invitation & opportunity 👏🏼

Our paper with work by @snoeck_simon and @anthonygkgarcia is out today in @eLife !
We describe the evolution of herbivore peptide recognition by a plant immune receptor, and resurrect the sequence of the ancestral gene from ~28 million years ago.
