Dylan Larkin was born in Michigan. He played for the NTDP in Ann Arbor. He went to University of Michigan. He was drafted by his hometown Red Wings. He’s their captain.
How bad are things for him to request a trade from there?
ADHD is remembering your friend's birthday a week early. Forgetting the day of. Feeling so bad you don't reach out at all. Buying a gift a month later. Never mailing it. Still thinking about it six years later.
Calling ADHD "procrastination" is the biggest joke. procrastination implies I am actually enjoying the distraction. I am NOT. I am actively MARINATING in a toxic soup of my own avoidance, intensely aware that I am making my life ten times worse, screaming at my body to just get up, and my brain is just like "no ❤️"
Neurotypical advice: "If you're overwhelmed, just break your project down into smaller, bite-sized pieces!"
My ADHD brain: Breaks it down. Realizes there are now 15 micro-tasks instead of 1 macro-task. Experiences 15 times the amount of executive dread. Abandons the project entirely to go organize a closet.
It used to be the bottom 5 teams that tanked.
People complained about Philly, so the odds were flattened, resulting in the bottom 10 teams tanking.
Now the “solution” is to incentivize teams 7~16 to tank, but hey, the bottom five teams will try harder? Yay?
I've always loved this idea because it gets to the right answer in the most backwards way.
NBA GMs are the most nakedly self-interested people in sports. The team they vote for would be the team that threatens them least... which is exactly who we should want picking No. 1.
Under this new 3-2-1 lottery, be prepared to see a lot of teams in the middle of the pack give up late in the year. There is now no incentive for teams with the 6th-worst through those seeded 9th/10th to win anymore.
Tanking has transferred from the worst teams to good teams.
I disagree with the NFL all the time but I can follow their logic generally
The NBA is run like a traveling circus. It’s all a reaction to public opinion. It’s insanity.
