Three days to my call to bar, I was already in Abuja, done with my clearance, but had no wig and gown. Ahhhh!!. I called my dad but that man was obviously fed up with the consistent billing law school had on him. There was no money for it. I know my father well, if he had gotten the money, he would have sent it. I was seeing my mates going for pre call to bar photo shoot and that triggered me more. I called my eldest sister who just relocated to Lagos but she told me she was financially handicapped. Her husband who had lost his job managed to send me the sum of #20,000 and one of my junior colleagues in the University sent me #10,000. Anytime I called home expressing my anxiety, I would be welcomed with that silence on the phone; my dad practically told me he was done. Most people close to me whom I called gave me excuses of being broke at that time.

Two days to call to bar, I woke up to pray Tajajjud and cried in Sujood saying: "Ya Allah, you are the only One who can help me at this point. I need a call to bar wig and gown. I don't know how but you brought me to this stage. You didn't support me to pass bar finals but not get called".
In the morning, I messaged one of our law school mentors named Micheal Senkoya Esq who posted my predicament on his group.

I was restless at that point and was just praying for a breakthrough at that moment. One lady on the group commented: "I have ordered for a suit,wig and gown from Daraz which have been delivered to me but my uncle also sent me a brand new wig and gown from the UK for me through DHL. I just got it now. If you don't mind, meet me at Bwari law school entrance by 4pm with the #30,000 with you to get this suit from UK".
I immediately contacted this lady and we met at Bwari. She was from Akwa Ibom and I could remember her first name was Grace. She told me she would collect the #30,000 because she needed more money to secure her flight ticket back to the east and told me how she wasn't interested in practicing law in Nigeria, hence, she didn't need two wigs. That was how I got a brand new "imported" wig and gown from the UK with the sum of #30,000.

I bowed in appreciation of Allah's Benevolence. At that point, it was just Him. Anytime I remember this incident, I develop the conviction that Allah didn't make me join the legal profession to fail. It is in His Plan for me and He is the Best of Planners. May that day never come when I will cease to believe in the Mercy of my Lord on me. In which of Allah's favors shall we deny?. None!!

I want to start by asking this: is it fair or reasonable to judge my son — journalist & political commentator Sami Hamdi — only by a single video from a source linked to Mossad?

Sami was born in 1990 in London and holds a Master’s degree in Law from SOAS, University of London. He is the founder and editor of the online magazine The International Interest. He is married and a devoted husband & father of three young children.

Sami loves football and supports Arsenal. He is friendly, tolerant, and has friends from diverse backgrounds. He is also a gifted speaker, often invited to share his insights at international conferences and on major media platforms.

He has no criminal record and is not affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood or any other religious or political group. Yes, he is outspoken about the ongoing genocide in Gaza — but he is far from alone in that. Almost every human being with a conscience feels the same.

Dear Americans, you are better than deporting a journalist for holding an opinion you could easily challenge with your own.

Remember: free speech is enshrined in the First Amendment of your Constitution — and your government publishes an annual report on freedom of speech and human rights in every country.

If America truly stands by the principles it promotes around the world, then it must also protect those same principles at home. Silencing a journalist for speaking his conscience undermines the very freedoms that define your nation.

Let fairness, truth, and humanity — not fear or political pressure — guide your judgment.

Not that this will accomplish anything, since you people hit the "off" switch inside your brains once your religion is mentioned, but for the benefit of the roughly 9 teachable people left in Nigerja, here is what is REALLY happening around you:

1. China is winning the economic war with the US, and the US is aware that it can no longer compete industrially with China, which is already a larger economy than the US in PPP terms. The only reason the US economy is still nominally larger is that the US dollar remains wildly overvalued due to its use as the global reserve currency.

2. The rise of BRICS means that the end of the US dollar as global reserve currency is coming. Once that happens, the US economy will implode, because it is built on exporting USD and importing the world's productivity. Without the overvalued USD as an imperial tool for controlling and extracting from the rest of the planet, the US will basically become Brazil with nuclear warheads.

3. The Trump administration knows this, which is why it has gone into full imperial mode, renaming the DoD to "Department of War," and preparing to deploy the US military across Latin America as part of its 'Monroe Doctrine.' The idea is to secure land, resources, and spheres of influence to compete with China and Russia, since it is no longer the unilateral superpower.

4. In this new multipolar world whose birth you are witnessing, there will be 3 or 4 great powers instead of just one, and all of them will compete and jostle for influence and access to resources. That is what you are witnessing playing out in Nepal, Bangladesh, the Sahel, the Middle East, Venezuela, and many other places. Yes, there are local factors, but everything exists in this wider context of a world being reshaped in front of our eyes.

5. During this reshaping of the world, Africa - the only continent with a majority of its states professing 'nonalignment' with any great power - is the biggest prize that is up for grabs. All of tomorrow's technology, which guarantees economic and military supremacy is built on resources found in DR Congo, Northern Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad, Sudan and Somalia. (What unique security situation do all these places have in common?)

6.During this reshaping, "international institutions" are debased and made irrelevant. Bibi Netanyahu has an ICC arrest warrant that nobody will honour, and the US government sanctioned the ICC for issuing the warrant, even locking the ICC Chief Prosecutor out of his email and bank accounts. The UN has officially declared Gaza to be a genocide - and nothing happened. And nothing will happen because these "institutions" no longer have of the teeth they once pretended to have.

7. This means that the days of one state cooking up a reason to invade or annex another state - something expressly forbidden since 1945 - are now back. And since Africa has what everybody wants, any great power is now free to deploy a geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") and use it to justify invasion to take what it wants. In other words, colonialism is coming back - not IMF/World Bank, suit-wearing, conference-attending, Business-English-speaking, polite neo-colonialism, but open, obvious colonial theft and thuggery. This is not decades away - it is a few years away at the most.

8. Russia considers Europe to be its rightful sphere of influence and trade dominance. Hence it views European access to cheap African resources as a threat. Thus Russia is stepping in to provide military and infrastructure support for African states so that they can start to use their own resources for themselves and leave Europe dependent on Russia. Europe and the US see this as an existential threat, hence their proxy war in Ukraine and their new geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") to justify direct military occupation of West Africa.

9. No great power gives a single fuck about "Nigerian Christian genocide." All you are is a means to an end!
