Very excited to share my work understanding how we can leverage extracellular proteins to combat aging! I would also like to truly thank Dr. Anne Brunet, the Brunet Lab and my collaborators for all their guidance and help on this project, it has been a blast!
Excited to share our paper on identification of secreted proteins during aging! Using proximity labeling and mass spectrometry, we identify secreted proteins that change during aging in C. elegans! Congrats to Jason Miklas and all collaborators! @JayJWM50

We profiled gene expression, chromatin accessibility and untargeted lipidomics in multiple killifish species with and without diapause to investigate how the genes and regulatory elements specific to diapause evolved.
Our integrative analysis suggests that diapause evolved by repurposing ancient gene duplicates or paralogs by a relatively recent remodeling of regulatory elements. These regulatory elements include transcription factors such as REST/NRSF, FOXO, and lipid regulators PPARs.
Very excited about our new paper on the evolution of diapause – a 'suspended animation' state that allows survival in extreme conditions in the African killifish 🐟😀
