@SirMasterMike46 @SenTomCotton Most parents work later than when school is over, so it would be almost dark when the parents get home. It's too cold to be out in winter, anyway. Plus the parents will be too tired to play much. It's also dinner time & then homework time. Then it's almost bedtime.

@leighmkay @SenTomCotton It's different because people need the morning light to wake up! We don't need a bunch of groggy, sleepy drivers going to work in the mornings. It still won't be pitch black when most people get off work but even if is they will be more alert and awake.

@SenTomCotton Thank you! You are exactly right about the dark winter mornings. People would be out at the darkest and coldest time of the morning under DST. I wish my TN senators @SenatorHagerty @MarshaBlackburn would realize how bad this would be for East TN. Permanent Standard Time is best!

@RepHarshbarger @timburchett Please OPPOSE Permanent DST! It was tried in the 70s but quickly repealed because of dark, cold mornings. Sunrise in East TN would not be until approx 8:45 during part of the winter under permanent DST. Vote for permanent STANDARD time instead!

@GovBillLee Why should we the taxpayers have to fund TWO school systems - both public and private? Maybe the public system needs some drastic reforms, instead. We need better public schools but the taxpayers need to keep more of our own money!
