@Edwinivich The most effective teachers I’ve seen (and tried to model my practice after) use academics to build relationships and trust. It’s both/and, kids will with their butts off if they believe you believe in them and will also not take their shit (or allow their peers to disrupt class

@Edwinivich Also she had no crowd control either. It was chaos. She didn’t see a problem. I didn’t have hire/fire powers, only support and feedback powers. Once she told me to not come observe, and the Head of School didn’t get involved, I knew it was not the place for me.
