Big thanks to @MoHFW_INDIA for supporting the WHA resolution on Climate Change and Health at #WHA77! India's commitment to tackling climate impacts on health is crucial. The health community celebrates your leadership! 🌍 #ClimateAction
A pleasure to be a part of this session. Thank you to @FHF_global for the Summit. So important to keep building momentum on health - the human face of climate change -- on the road to COP29.

Nurses on the front lines, responding to the impacts of climate change on their patients, are crucial to the conversation. Trusted by communities, and with vital insights to offer both patient care practice, and climate policy. Nice piece by @enviRN director!
Check out this great op-ed by ANHE's Executive Director Dr. Katie Huffling:
"In a world awash with misinformation about health and climate change, nurses are well-positioned to provide reliable, evidence-based information on both."

Heading into another Cali wildfire season, new calculation of deaths from wildfire smoke 2008-2018 much higher than previously estimated, to an economic tune of $430+ billion.

It is encouraging when world leaders speak out about this crucial matter.
The UKHACC lists disinvesting from fossil fuels and signing the fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty as one of the commitments for health organisations.

Climate change is a health threats multiplier.
This #WorldEnvironmentDay, I echo @richardhorton1’s call to the whole health sector community to strongly advocate for keeping fossil fuels in the ground, and ensuring health is at the centre of #ClimateAction.
100% support this.
Also need to get fossil fuel interests out of climate negotiations and policy making.
And need to stop subsidizing the industry with public funds & picking up the tab for the cancer, asthma, strokes, heatwaves, etc. that their products cause.
Many governments restrict or prohibit advertising for products that harm human health – like tobacco.
I urge every country to do the same with fossil fuel companies by banning their advertising.
And I urge news media & tech companies to stop taking fossil fuel advertising.
After exciting adoption of #WHA77 Resolution on Climate & Health, looking forward to joining this strategic roundtable. Next steps to accelerate the growing momentum on #healthyclimate, & announcement expected about health program at COP29.

A well-deserved recognition. Congratulations Courtney!
So pleased to join you, @courtghoward and @LujainAlqodmani, to lay out next steps the health community can take to drive action on climate change & health - spot on synopsis, Courtney.
Thx @NEJM, for letting us share our thoughts.
To deliver a healthy response to #climatechange, the health sector must ✅raise our collective voice
✅harness the 10% of GWP we allocate
✅counter fossil fuelled policy influence Honoured to co-author this w @GCHAlliance ED @JeniMiller & @medwma Prez @LujainAlqodmani in @NEJM.
The health community achieved a lot at last year's UN climate negotiations. The outcomes of the talks also still fell short of action we need, to protect people's health.
Economist Impact gave me a chance to reflect on all this, and on where we go from here.
#COP28 was the first to have a dedicated health day, underscoring the recognition that the #climatecrisis is a #healthcrisis. @JeniMiller, executive director of the @GCHAlliance, explores the successes for health, and looks at where commitments fall short https://t.co/kgKNB0Mm95
