The New Jersey Department of Health today sought to conduct a health inspection of Delaney Hall, but it was denied full access and was allowed to inspect only a limited part of the facility. We will review and share the Department’s findings from the limited portion it was allowed to inspect, and we will continue to pursue all appropriate avenues for demanding transparency and ensuring humane conditions for the individuals being held at the facility.
As I’ve said repeatedly, refusing to provide full access raises serious questions about what ICE is trying to hide from public view.
New Jersey believes in the rule of law, will uphold the Constitution, and Delaney Hall should be closed down. I am calling for ICE to immediately de-escalate the situation as I continue working to keep New Jersey residents safe.
We have seen RFK, Jr. and the Trump Administration do everything in their power to undermine trust in vaccines and health professionals.
Today, I signed legislation ensuring vaccination and immunization guidance is state-based. Instead of mirroring increasingly unreliable federal vaccine guidance, we will instead look to professional health care bodies such as the @AmerAcadPeds, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American College of Physicians to develop our own recommendations.
Harm reduction is the cornerstone of our approach to the opioid crisis and, for the first time in a decade, the rate of overdose deaths is declining in New Jersey.
From establishing harm reduction centers to building supportive housing, we are doing everything we can to help people battling addiction.
We still recommend every newborn be vaccinated against hepatitis B. The @NJDeptofHealth and @NJDOBI are urging providers and payors to follow the @AmerAcadPeds guidance.
We will not let @SecKennedy jeopardize one of the most effective childhood immunizations in history.

This week, the Trump Administration ripped away $350 million in funding for public health, mental health, and addiction services in New Jersey.
We will do everything we can to restore this funding — including taking legal action — so we can keep New Jerseyans safe and healthy.
NEW: Overdose deaths declined statewide as the @NJDeptofHealth continues expanding Harm Reduction Centers and streamlining access to treatment.
While every death is one too many, the data show that our whole-of-government strategy is working.

This afternoon, I was briefed by @NJDA Secretary Ed Wengryn, @NJDeptofHealth Commissioner Kaitlan Baston, and @NewJerseyDEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette on @NJGov’s bird flu response.

⚠️ An Air Quality Action Day for Particulate Matter (PM2.5) has been declared for Monday, July 17th.
Sensitive individuals, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors.
As air quality worsens across the state, everyone should take commonsense precautions to protect themselves against negative health effects.
Stay inside, stay safe, and continue to monitor @NewJerseyDEP for air quality updates.
The world’s largest natural ice skating rink, also part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, may not open this winter as warm temperatures in Ottawa put long-standing traditions on thin ice. https://t.co/b0kLYSSzrL
