Grateful to be part of an important conversation at #AHTS2026 on why Africa’s intelligent health systems must also prioritise the health and wellbeing of adolescents.
The recognition of adolescent and school health within the Summit’s discussions, and the emphasis on young people being part of the conversation, was particularly meaningful.
As @medsar_rwanda , we remain committed to empowering adolescents with SRHR knowledge, strengthening health education, and creating safe spaces where young people can access information, support and services.
Thank you @umubyeyi_rw, @AfricaHTSummit, @VillageReach, @Rwanda_Edu and @UNFPARwanda for creating space for these important conversations and partnerships.

#Rwandan innovator Amen Divine Ikamba has been selected among 22 founders for the inaugural 2026 cohort of the AI Ventures Accelerator (AIVA).
• Ikamba's fintech startup, PACIN, is set to showcase its technology at Demo Day in Delhi, India, scheduled for October 4-7.
• The event will bring together founders from across the accelerator’s six-month programme to present the ventures they have developed.
• PACIN is an API that converts mobile money and alternative financial data into explainable AI credit scores, helping lenders assess borrowers who lack traditional credit histories.
• The platform analyses financial behaviour such as savings patterns, repayment history and transaction consistency to support credit decisions.
• PACIN was also selected for the Black Is Tech Pitch Competition in Houston, accepted into the NVIDIA Inception Program and named among 25 startups set to pitch at the Africa Fintech Summit in Kigali in November.
• Ikamba said the idea was inspired by watching her mother, a loan officer, work with small business owners who struggled to access additional financing because they lacked formal financial records.

• First Lady Jeannette Kagame has raised concern over shifting attitudes towards marriage among young people, warning that delayed commitment and changing relationship norms could weaken family stability.
• Speaking at the Young Leaders Prayer Breakfast on Sunday, she said fewer young people are marrying, while others are delaying marriage or viewing commitment as optional.
• She cautioned against relationships that remain indefinitely in stages such as “talking”, “dating”, “exclusive” and “situationships” without clear commitment.
• The First Lady also urged young people to embrace the responsibilities that come with marriage and parenthood, rather than seeking their benefits without the accompanying commitment.
• She challenged young leaders to develop emotional and relational skills alongside professional abilities, saying strong families are essential to responsible leadership.
• “Rwanda begins at home,” she said, urging young leaders to see family stability as part of their responsibility to the country.

"A woman should not have to calculate whether an individual officer, security guard, or venue manager will consider her clothing sufficiently “decent” before entering a public space. On Monday, August 31, 2026, we concluded the Passion4Health Summer Training Program 2026.
For eight weeks, our scholars explored global health, vision, digital literacy, academic writing, communication, professionalism, and capstone project development, always connecting learning to the real problems facing our communities.
“You do not have to wait until you become a senior healthcare provider or a leader to make an impact. You can start now.”~Joseph Ndagijimana
To our scholars: congratulations. This is only the beginning. The ideas you carry forward, the questions you ask, and the work you will do in your communities and careers will create impact beyond imagination.
A sincere thank you to #Isomo for your mentorship, guidance, and continued support, and to every instructor, mentor, and team member who made this milestone possible, and @Yale for believing in us and support our initiative in all the ways possible. We don't take all these opportunities for granted.
