In honor of #nationalcomingoutday thought I’d share with my Twitter fam I’m 🌈 bi/pan. Grateful to my amazing hubby, and happy to let go of never feeling “straight enough” or “gay enough” and just being me. Hi #queermedtwitter ! I am honored to publicly join this community 1/2
To all my female colleagues in medicine and science - you are seen and valued. While it feels like we need to prove ourselves every day, the reality is we are truly more than good enough just the way we are. #womeninmedicine#representationmatters#diversitymatters
Thank you for sharing this Dr. Dasari 💜 training programs (especially surgical) are not designed to be inclusive or support mental health, and as a result surgical subspecialties lose incredible humans like you. +many others who also left or chose not to pursue in the 1st place
A piece I wrote in the wake of leaving my surgical fellowship. Thanks @kevinmd for publishing

Racism is a social determinant of health for patients and survivors of cancer. In our study, survivors who experienced racism were more likely to report poor physical and mental health, inadequate sleep, depression, and activity limitations. https://t.co/t9YbHlPjJN

Possibly unpopular opinion: the tragedy of and love for the victims of yesterday’s shooting is not made any less by acknowledging the tragedy that someone with (I assume) severe mental health issues had access to a gun #protectkidsnotguns#bangunsnotbooks
There is simply no excuse for this shit. None. Republicans are fucking dumb. And if you support Republicans, you are fucking dumb. We are failing children every day when Republicans fail to pass gun laws that protect children from these tragedies.
Academia convinced people they have “imposter syndrome” to deflect away from the structural inequities and exclusive cultures that literally force people to the margins. I don’t have imposter syndrome these places were built to keep people like me out
#Florida has laws that threaten the health & safety of LGBTQ youth, forbids school discussions abt the US’s legacy of racism/discrimination & is abt to ban abortions after 6 wks. It is a firmly Anti-Child/Anti-Family state & the 2024 @AAPexperience should not be held in Orlando.
I'd like to highlight Dr. Justin Bullock (@jbullockruns), a research fellow in the nephrology program at the University of Washington (@UWNephrology) who advocates for greater #MentalHealth support for our nation’s health workers. Let's celebrate him this #BlackHistoryMonth. 1/3
Thank you for sharing @doc_bipolar to remind us all the impact and trauma we can cause kids we care for in the icu, and simple (human) ways we can avoid it 💜 sending love to your little and your fam
