From 2006-2008 I was the compliance note taker for Google’s weekly “OC” meetings - deal decision mtgs for Eric, Larry, Sergey, Sheryl, Omid etc. After more than a decade later at G, I still learned the most from that job as a silent participant.
Career hack: ask to shadow your boss in meetings you aren’t invited to. Say you want to come to learn, & won’t say a word.
Even if they say no, it shows you want to advance & are proactively trying to learn. They’ll either say yes or offer you another way to get exposure.
