OpenAI CEO Sam Altman:
"in the next 6 months, we're close to a world where a descendant of ChatGPT can watch your screen, record every meeting and call, and have perfect context of your whole life"
We're only one model generation away from this being incredibly useful
You can now keep your work from other agents in sync with ChatGPT Work and Codex.
Import projects, chats, skills, and plugins, review your import history, and opt in to automatic updates in Settings.
Now available in the ChatGPT desktop app.
Build where your code already lives.
Codex is coming to Linux in the ChatGPT desktop app, so you can keep your projects, development workflows, and supported browser tools together.

Anthropic is working on invisible watermarks for text generated by Claude which would not be visible to normal readers.
The watermark would be hidden in the text but could still be detected later, even after the text is copied, pasted or edited.
They want to make it easier to identify text created or changed with AI and help meet new AI transparency rules in the EU.
It also wouldn’t necessarily mean Claude wrote the whole thing; someone could use Claude to edit, translate or summarize text that was originally written by a person.
Anthropic says new Claude models will embed invisible watermarks in all generated text, everywhere Claude is offered.
The watermark is part of the text, it isn't metadata: "it will travel with the text when it's copied and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing."
This starts with models launched on or after August 2, 2026, under an EU AI Act code Anthropic signed. Anthropic is still working on adding it to current models. The rollout is worldwide.
We just launched Xirp, a vendor-neutral agentic development environment. One place to manage agent sessions across @ClaudeDevs, @GeminiApp CLI, and @OpenAI Codex. 1,300+ @Spotify engineers already use it. Now it's available for you to try. Learn more at https://t.co/Hwo8Qqx4OI.
We’re expanding our cybersecurity initiative Daybreak and introducing GPT-5.6-Cyber, a new model for advanced, authorized cybersecurity work.
As the threat landscape evolves, we’re putting frontier intelligence in the hands of trusted defenders before attackers can deploy offensive AI at scale.
astra is a powerful model and we are working to make it generally available.
we do not think it is a good strategy to keep powerful models to a chosen few.
given its cyber capabilities, we need a little big longer to do do this safely. but hopefully not too long!
New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other.
Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.
I am beginning to see that some people just like complaining about literally everything.
The fact that people are getting so bent out of shape over GTA 6's extended look being on Netflix for......get this.... 6 hours! 6 hours!! Is hilarious. Most people sleep for longer.
GTA transcends gaming and Rockstar literally did the same thing with GTA 5 with Game Informer, where it was locked behind a magazine, were you people complaining then?
Some people need to get out and touch grass........or touch grass for 6 hours and then come back and watch the extended look on YouTube. lol
The outrage reaction is a total nothing burger.
Starting August 14, auto mode will be the default permission mode in Claude Code for Pro, Max, and Team users.
Auto mode reviews shell commands and actions with a separate classifier. In testing, it caught 89% of dangerous commands. Manual approval caught 14%.
