@NadjaGingJehli Our work from a great collaboration now out at Brain Stimulation: https://t.co/cmTVmWx7aO
We find that 4 Hz STN stimulation in *humans* changes decision thresholds:

New paper coming out in BP:CNNI soon. I'll post a link to paper and data when available. But I'm done posting here.

Hogeveen et al., contrary to predictions, found no evidence of clinically significant depression after adolescent mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Depression in youth post-mTBI may not be as significant as in adults. Read at: https://t.co/pbYA6wcmsM @JeremyHogeveen @JimCav

To keep it short: Bug or feature?
If stim to pre-response evidence is naturally confounded b/c it's a continual process, then removing stim variance from resp ... uhhh removes the effect.
Yay! Thanks to @DaveSegar, @JimCav, and @LnccBrown and others for an awesome collab! 🤩 We’re excited to share our findings on how complementary dynamics in the basal ganglia contribute to behavioral adaptability! 🧠🤓
@froemero1@amitaishenhav@NassarLab It reminds me of *old* lit on the P3b. Reasonably rapid RTs reliably occur at the peak of P3b. But slow RTs are ~shrug~ . Seems like there's a clear first-order accumulation effect, but also a later hidden (to EEG) process on more complex decisions.
@timmytimmytim Bold statement. I don't fully disagree. But it's easy to quantify one event at one electrode (e.g. 'the ERN'), obviating multi-corr problems. The stereotyped and highly reliable nature of primitive computations make reverse inf. more viable. In sum: it's less of a problem.
I will accept a PhD student (Clinical Psychology or Cognition, Brain & Behavior focused) to start at @UNM in Fall 2025. Please visit our website to learn more: https://t.co/juT0j6k2fg
