1/ I’m hugely excited to be able to share with you our paper ‘hepcidin-mediated hypoferremia disrupts immune responses to vaccination and infection’ @MedCellPress

Thank you @Drakesmith_Lab @MRC_HIU @MRC_WIMM + our global collaborators! #Tweetorial time:
Two new contributions from us: @MeganRTeh on the wild metabolism of CD8 T-cells in iron deficiency and why they love aspartate; and the current landscape of the strong influence of iron on immunity in general, with @JoeNFrost

Our paper on PM abundance as a regulator for myeloid function is out at SI https://t.co/L5IMjE8TIi! I would like to thank my mentors Morgan Huse, Orion Weiner, and Jason Cyster and my labmates in @huselab The Morgan Huse Laboratory, @OWeinerLab, and Cyster labs.
Thrilled to have this story out online @ImmunityCP!! Together with @SunLab_Official, we highlight how dietary fasting improves NK cell anti-tumor immunity and examine the tissue-specific processes that drive these improved responses 🧵https://t.co/QpyLoMqHoH
Great thread from Felix on @sarah_wideman ‘s amazing recent paper. Sarah makes us ask what’s happening to the host immune response when we think about iron availability and malaria! It was a lot of fun working with them both and seeing this story develop.
I am really glad to highlight a fantastically thorough paper from @sarah_wideman and the @Drakesmith_Lab which I was allowed to have a small role in. It highlights the central role of cellular #iron levels in host cells during #malaria. A thread🧵

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share a pre-print of my postdoc work 🍾https://t.co/fuyi7rXp7S
We found a protein (Gb4) that allows immune cells to move after ”eating”. Normal innate immune cells (red) stop moving to prevent pathogen spreading, but cells lacking Gb4 keep migrating.
Congratulations to IMP graduate student Deeksha Deep @deeksha_deep in Sasha Rudensky’s lab on the successful defense of her thesis work! Way to go Dr. Deep!! 🥳🙌🏻🥂
Excited to share our work in @NatureImmunol on synovial fibroblasts in rheumatoid arthritis! A wonderful collab between @HSpecialSurgery + @MSKCancerCenter with @GaoVianne@DonlinLab, Tom Norman, Christina Leslie and Sasha Rudensky. https://t.co/z8u3UWDgbJ
What does melanoma do with all that fat?
Incredibly excited to share that our work on lipid droplets in melanoma is finally out!

This is corroborated by NHS data, which shows that the huge increase in voluntary resignations over the past two years has been driven by people citing problems with their work-life balance.
Thrilled to share our new paper, jointly with Sasha Rudensky, spearheaded by Ari Glasner, Sam Rose and Roshan Sharma. While deleting genes is the current rave, this paper shows the awesome power of deleting entire cell types, T-regs in this example:

Excited to share that my postdoctoral work is finally out @NatureCellBio, thanks to all the great people @Simona66274422 @SThongjuea I've been working with @UniofOxford@MRC_WIMM. What a journey!

Extremely honored to have joined the #charter#dinner@StEdmundHall last night and represent @IngenzaLtd at this fabulous event. Thank you very much @JackTan19 for the invite. It is a real pleasure working with you and @UniofOxford on innovative vaccines
Andrew Pollard nails it again: The UK's NHS has transformed healthcare by training clinical research leaders, but they must have protected time to deliver. This cannot be achieved while doctors and nurses are drowning in a chronically understaffed system. https://t.co/CrPyn3JRro
Really glad my PhD work is now released. Here is the promised 🧵. In the @aksimonlab, we have been investigating for a long time, how autophagy, the cellular recycling mechanism, controls immunity. However little is known how autophagy in non-immune cells impacts #immunity.
I am very happy to see my first first-author paper published @embojournal, very excited to see the main work of my #PhD now online. A detailed 🧵is coming soon. In short, we found that #adipocyte#autophagy limits gut inflammation by IL-10 and oxylipins.
