You wouldn't expect to learn to be a plumber online for free in a summer. Skills are valuable and take years to learn. Just stay away from @hackerrank and sites like it. They are a joke.

The problems are not representative of real issues in real projects and professional software development is much more than hacking together a cute algorithm. Misguided.

@ThamesVP Yeah I have similar case. I had Thames Valley police demand money after they hid in a van on empty stretch of country road and got my car going 7 mph over the speed limit. Profitable - yes - but given that they failed to attend my burglary citing manpower shortage - annoying.
