After the reports of Chinese made solar cell inverters shutting down, this story doesn’t surprise me. China controls the sun now. Or at least, that seems to be their goal.
And a shout out to @JonPelson who helped me understand the security argument is a plausible one. If Trump were actually DOING that, it would at least have some chance at success.
If @realDonaldTrump is playing 3D chess, he is losing on every "D."
Even if you steel-man the arguments, you have to PICK one strategy and then pursue it.

Right back at you, @mungowitz . In an economic context, the damage from tariffs is clear. But when you’re dealing with others who aren’t trying to maximize economic outcomes, or you have higher priorities…Trump may be doing some of the right things, for all the wrong reasons.

@trmcdonald@DefenseDep_FPS@scsp_ai@DefenseOne@ArielleRoth Despite Germany’s claims of banning Huawei, scratch the surface and you’ll see a very different story. First, there’s a 5yr+ runway. But the “ban” is limited and insufficient. Great read here by @iainwmorris https://t.co/8XHjEyE86g
Trump’s rapid and seemingly indiscriminate imposition of tariffs against America’s biggest trading partners seems a policy drawn from the founder of modern Singapore, writes @JonPelson

@maphumanintent@johnkonrad That leaves the enemies confused, overwhelmed, disoriented, and unable to respond. It causes panic and breaks their morale.
I like it.
"TikTok changes who you are....It pushes content to you deliberately and with an agenda, and restricts content from you deliberately and with an agenda. So it is changing what you know, who you are, and how you spend your time," says @JonPelson, author of Wireless Wars
@mungowitz@MaxUtilitarian Yeah, the problem isn’t a 10% staff shortfall. Renewing a valid, current NC license? State House announces they are all extended for two years till this process is addressed. There. Fixed it.
I was pleased to see that the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force included my book — Wireless Wars — in his list of five that airmen should read.

We’re thrilled to announce that WIRELESS WARS by @JonPelson was selected as one of the @cmsaf_official’s “Leadership Library” picks for November 2024. Check it out here: https://t.co/bRtrg287yK
Glad to see @SenMarcoRubio citing a recent piece I wrote with @KeithJKrach on the real role of Huawei in advancing the geopolitical goals of China’s CCP.
Thank you to @SenMarcoRubio for citing @JonPelson and my article about Huawei in his new op-ed.
Sen. Rubio rightly observes that Huawei is not just another telco. It’s a tool of the Chinese Communist Party’s global surveillance state.
During the Trump Administration, we rallied 60 countries, 200+ telcos, and many industry leading firms to exclude high-risk, untrusted 5G suppliers, like Huawei, because they represented a serious national security risk. As a result, the company lost about $30B. That’s why Beijing is spending tens of billions to prop it up.
As Sen. Rubio points out, it’s “not a reflection of Huawei’s ingenuity,” but rather its importance to the CCP’s strategy for global dominance.

@StephenFleming@elonmusk Freewheeling permissionless innovation only trumps central planning when you actually engage in freewheeling permissionless innovation. If we are hoping that our government spending can outperform theirs, we will lose. That’s China’s game.
In “Wireless Wars,” @JonPelson outlines the only way the USA can compete with China in critical 5G technology: chaotic “permissionless innovation” that changes the game. @elonmusk is trying to do precisely that with Starlink. The regulatory agencies are clearly opposed to him. Whose side are they on?

@yashar This attack wounded or killed hundreds or thousands of terrorists. It crippled future internal communications for Hezbollah. It will lead to a purge that includes otherwise “loyal terrorists”. It generate paranoia. And it will devastate morale. That’s worth burning bridges.
