Dr. Stephany Kim, PGY-2, joined Dr. Mallah and Cinterandes in Ecuador, assisting with mobile surgical care near the Amazon. “It was a powerful experience—bringing surgery to the people and helping bridge gaps in access to care.” 🇪🇨🚚✨
Was incredible to bring Dr Kim down to work with @CINTERANDES. Really hoping to create a fellowship opportunity for Residents in the future. The experience is so invaluable and the impact is so immeasurable
Thanks to @MUSC_CGH and @MUSCSurgery for their support of our program!

We are so excited to welcome world-renowned global surgeon Dr. John Tarpley, Dr. John Hallmark (PGY3), and Savannah Skidmore (M4) to all share personal insights into global surgery.
Our partner Cinterandes completed a successful mission to Manglaralto led by Dr. Edgar Rodas. The team provided surgical care for members of the community with Futuro Valdivia. McKay Meyer, a 4th year student in our program, had the opportunity to learn about mobile surgery.
Kind of fun to see that Cell editors chose our 2022 paper on Mouse Synthetic Embryo Models by @Shadi_Tarazi@AlejandroAgCa@Carinejoubran among highlighted landmark studies they published in the last decade (Cell line 2014-2024).
