Leafs are going to do it. This team guys. Something feels different.

@MakaylaExner @KIN110UofR It is still crazy to me how fans are willing to do this. There are certain things taken into account when they do this, but is a loss really worth possible criminal charges. As a sport fan myself when my team loses it sucks, but I won’t torch a car over it @KIN110UofR

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@Diya29580053 @KIN110UofR This is not good for the citizens. Especially for those who do not care about sports and have to pay taxes to help their local sport team fund construction. This is a step backwards to say the least @KIN110UofR

In the MLB teams are making change, but it is not major changes that have much of an impact. It is a start, but also needs a long way to go. Some may argue this is just to make them look good. What are your thoughts ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/4EddiQK819

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@matz_emmett @KIN110UofR I think spending that much just to renovate is a little excessive especially if none of it went towards a good cause like a green initiative. An idea for them could be to at least invest some of that money into making the course more environmentally friendly @KIN110UofR

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@DaniloKin110 @KIN110UofR I understand the whole point of making pay between genders equal but it makes no sense to give money to players who did not even play money. If they want equal pay they should give equal pay when the two teams play not taking money from the other @KIN110UofR

The Seattle Kraken’s arena is the first net-zero arena in hockey and other teams should use this is a guide for creating a better more environmentally friendly experience in the NHL ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/1ABTXfdAW0

Truly awesome stuff from Wayne Simmonds. Wayne visited the victim who was bullied by Mitchell Miller. In class we talked about violence and bullying. This is what athletes need to learn from @KIN110UofR https://t.co/y8m2gP1VjV

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@JamesSaliKin110 @KIN110UofR My reaction is wow too that’s scary stuff right there. Definitely could be seen as criminal activity and a great example of spectator violence not what we’d expect though. Instead to a player on the field. Truly horrible @KIN110UofR

Should Vancouver put a bid on to host the 2030 olympics especially for reconciliation. In class we talked about bids for this what are your thoughts. Canadian Olympic, Paralympic committees ask B.C. government to reconsider 2030 bid ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/NdIbHhy5YR

Came across this article on the front of the MLB website. Although everything else on there was about men playing baseball it is great to see this historic event being talked about. Do you think this could spark more change? ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/YkEJpWTWdx

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

In class today we talked about media and how there is very little coverage of womens sports. This article is a study showing there is a major gender gap in the US. What are your thoughts on this study? ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/kZALTFiqaU

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

Ross Stripling called out the MLB for their decision on the gold glove award at 3rd base not going to Matt chapman. How do you feel about players being able to share their opinions on social media ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/MuYsLpx5Ok

The @MapleLeafs had a very special ceremony to honor Börje Salming tonight. ❤️

The Swedish legend who still stands as the highest scoring defenseman in Leafs history is currently going through a battle with ALS, but 'came home' to Toronto for the weekend.

Today we talked about violence in sport and the 4 categories violence in sports can fall under. Ron Hextall ended a man’s career. In the video he slashes a player who never touched him. What category do you think this falls under? ⁦@KIN110UofR⁩ https://t.co/1QIP3gGBcd

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@MackenzieMagel @KIN110UofR I think a lot of it definitely has to do with their race. It is just something that is in today’s society unfortunately. Think of Barry bonds vs mark McGwire bonds is talked about more for steroids than McGwire and bonds is African American @KIN110UofR

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@adrian_kalena @KIN110UofR The fans were not right to boo Delgado for his actions. He was standing up for what was right and seeing it still be present today with Collin kaepernick and all of the BLM movements back in 2020 makes it even clearer he shouldn’t have been booed @KIN110UofR

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@KIN110UofR When I was in grade 6 an assistant coach on my baseball team was a women. That is the closest I have have heard of in male youth sports. I feel like we don’t see more female coaches because of gender norms and stereotypes and it is something in need of change @KIN110UofR

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@Addyson_A_Morse @KIN110UofR @KIN110UofR I believe this is the right decision. The Olympics is a place where athletes go to represent their country and it should not be allowed to have athletes there representing a country that started a war in recent history. We can’t forget they have cheated before too

[Joshua Curtin @JoshCurtin26]

@MadiSagertKin @KIN110UofR I think it is a great idea for that to be an option for athletes. It is especially a great option for athletes that started out of high school and have no clue how to manage their money. This will help lead to less players going bankrupt @KIN110UofR
