SCOTUS: “The 14th Amendment means even if you’re born to illegals if they give birth to you on American soil you’re an American!”
Jacob Howard Author of the 14th:
“This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens.”
The Supreme Court ignored the 14th Amendment and handed a win to the CCP. Every foreign enemy of the United States will utilize this irresponsible decision to harm American citizens and interests at home.
Congress needs to act now.
Repealing birthright citizenship needs to become the new Roe vs Wade project for the right. Only select SCOTUS justices who will vote to strike down birthright citizenship.
Or Congress can do their jobs and not rely on SCOTUS to make laws.
They interpreted the current law and made the correct decision based on the current law.
Don’t like it? Talk to your congressmen.
A nation without borders is not a nation.
The 14th amdt. was written to ensure equal citizenship between Americans, not to provide loopholes for illegals & birth tourists.
Congress must act.
🇺🇸Pass the SAVE America Act
🇺🇸Protect our borders
🇺🇸End the H-1B scam
🇺🇸Eliminate OPT
Wow, what a development! You need a constitutional amendment to repeal a constitutional amendment.
What a crazy thought, almost like that’s how it always was.
This was not a decision on procedural grounds (ie, POTUS can’t do this through executive order but Congress could legislate it); it is a substantive decision that says the 14th amendment requires citizenship for those born to, among others, birth tourists or those unlawfully present in the country.
Will need either a constitutional amendment or a future court to overrule this.
Anyway you slice it, the decision is a major defeat.
@HijinxHyena@Snarfalarf@beatmastermatt I don’t think it’s right that a child who was born here due to an illegal act should be allowed citizenship, BUT, the law currently says that do and are. The only way to change that is a constitutional amendment.
@ksaria098 @greendragonhq What does that have to do with votes? Which many Super Bowl halftime shows have been almost every election in America? Your original point makes 0 sense. It applies to every president and candidate ever.
