Thrilled and honored to have led the Linklaters team advising on this groundbreaking #stablecoin launch by SG Forge. https://t.co/CULAhkXRG8
The launch on a public blockchain of the first U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin by a global bank is a huge step forward for the digital assets industry. Congratulations to SG Forge and SocGen for their commitment to innovation, as well as the other parties involved. As the digital economy grows and evolves, very proud to support industry pioneers shaping our future, and very grateful for that opportunity.

Silence Laboratories convened Quantum Computing & Financial Market Infrastructure, a breakfast briefing with @AshurstPerkins in New York, bringing together executives from banks, custodians, asset managers and financial market infrastructure providers.
The last few months have been defining for post-quantum cryptography. Security estimates on candidate schemes have shifted, new algorithmic claims have emerged against long-trusted assumptions, federal migration deadlines are now in force, and major chains are locking in divergent post-quantum roadmaps.
GSIBs and financial institutions worldwide are moving into the asset class, building custody, tokenisation and settlement infrastructure largely from the ground up. Unlike legacy estates, this infrastructure is being designed now, which means quantum timelines will dictate its architecture from day one.
The event saw participation from industry leaders with insightful sessions from key speakers:
Dax Hansen (Ashurst Perkins Coie) and @hadleystern (Founding President, @DigitalAssets , former Global Head of Digital Asset Custody, @BNYglobal Mellon) opened by framing quantum risk as a board-level issue, not a research topic.
Abhi Shelat (@Northeastern / @Google), on stage with Sean Belding (Ashurst Perkins Coie), brought the cryptographer's and hyperscaler's view of the quantum timeline and what serious migration engineering demands.
Akshay Thakur (@BitGo) and Vitaliy Dorum (@WellsFargo), moderated by Hadley S., examined readiness through the custodian and bank lens, and how institutions building digital asset platforms are factoring post-quantum into their designs today.
@cristinadolan, in a fireside with @josh_blockchain (Ashurst Perkins Coie), provided a governance perspective: board oversight, regulatory expectations, disclosure and liability.
Representing Silence, @JayPrakash and Dr. Yashvanth Kondi presented "Post-Quantum Security for Digital Assets: An MPC Perspective" and demonstrated live post-quantum wallets, verified on Ethereum testnet, with no full key ever assembled.
The core theme across every session: for digital assets, signatures and not encryption are where the quantum exposure lies. The institutions entering this asset class have a rare advantage. They can build quantum readiness in, rather than retrofit it.
But that advantage only holds if the operational security standard established by a decade of MPC adoption survives the migration, and if choices are coordinated amongst institutions rather than being siloed. Failing this, the industry will inevitably repeat the fifteen-year retrofit experience of ECDSA adoption.
If you are designing custody or tokenisation infrastructure, reach out to us.

Privacy vs. public verifiability isn't a new problem in this space, it's the original design constraint. We were talking about it long before anyone was arguing about it in the House of Lords.
What's changed is that the tooling to do both now exists. What hasn't changed is that policy still treats it as a choice between the two.
@Joeyg_poh 's right that this needs decisions from the top of the funnel. The technology has been ready for a while. The frameworks haven't caught up.
A great #Darte London event yesterday at the House of Lords in London.
Great to see Dr. Nina-Luisa Siedler and Mariana de la Roche Wills continuing to lead these initiatives as always.
@xapobankapp has lead on lots of hot topics in the developing space and we're always happy to contribute to key discussions.
Privacy, confidentiality, and owning your data are key principles but public open networks are also fundamental so where are the solutions that both address concerns but protect against the key attack vectors?
As I mentioned at the event, moving the needle on some fundamentals needs key and policy lead decision making from the top of the funnel to have real effect
Thank you Dr Agata Ferreira, and Yasmina Boubnider Kazitani MBA. for the papers prepared and thoughtful contribution to the debate
Also great to see some familiar faces and reconnect with a few - Magnus Jones, Soledad Contreras, Zornitsa Daskalova, @0xmauricio
The Parity blog is a great place to read about the new product-focused direction they are heading in - less focus on low-level infrastructure, more focus on making the blockchains disappear under products people want.

This afternoon at 1:00 PM ET, the @CFTC will kick off the inaugural meeting of its Innovation Advisory Committee to discuss crypto, AI and prediction markets.
Many of the executives who attended yesterday’s White House event will be there, including additional leaders from across crypto, traditional finance, academia and prediction markets.
Quantum cybersecurity is no longer a side conversation, at @SALTConference it shared the main stage with digital banking.
Our CEO @MehowHacks joined @CaitlinLong_ of @custodiabank, @jeffwallis of @N3XTinc, and @nic_carter of @CastleIslandVC, moderated by @josh_blockchain, to talk about what it actually takes to future-proof finance.
Mehow's argument: every serious quantum plan assumes millions of holders will migrate their funds on command. Ours doesn't. Same address, quantum-resistant proof, users don't have to do anything.
Quantum isn't a crypto problem or a banking problem. It's a deadline and we build like it.
🚨🔥🔥🔥 Regulation #Crypto Assets would create tailored Securities Act exemptions for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets, paired with a conditional path to certainty about when the related investment contract has been completed or permanently ceased.
In our Ashurst Perkins Coie team’s latest piece, we highlight key aspects of Regulation Crypto Assets and identify potential points for comments and exploration. The proposal is not final, and important questions will require close attention in the proposing release and public-comment process.
This matters for issuers, investors, trading platforms, custodians, decentralized-finance participants and the broader U.S. crypto asset ecosystem.
Our team is ready to help market participants understand and respond to this landmark proposal.
Sovereignty includes the freedom to choose your fortress
That's the thought I keep coming back to after this weekend. A five-year-old ColdCard bug, keys regenerated offline, over 1,750 BTC swept — the first wave in 41 minutes. No phishing, no lost devices, no mistakes by the victims. And no one to claim against, no way back.
I've defended the right to self-custody for years and always will. But being your own bank means being your own insurer. A slogan is not a security model.
It's why Xapo Bank has taken a different path since 2013: security as architecture, not a device. No single key, no seed phrase, no single point of failure.
