No handlers. No partymen to protect her. No ministers to help her out. Not living in a huge mansion. No pidi journalists asking easy questions. Not in the comfort of a studio. A woman from the oppressed community, facing the questions and answering boldly. I'm really impressed.
In Colonial India, locals in Himalayas and Punjab region had used inflated bullock skins as boat service to carry passengers across rivers. A short thread on this unusual and strange medium of transport.

A few days back, I saw a patient with diabetes. He had been taking diabetes medications for nearly a decade and had gotten frustrated. On a fateful morning, he happened to walk into an allegedly Ayurvedic clinic - V****a clinic. The doctor there told him, his diabetes can be cured - but he needs to take some proprietary herbal medicines. The herbal drugs cost him Rs. 13,000 per month, costlier than any modern diabetes medicine. But he took the plunge - after all, the lure of cure is irresistible.
He reasoned, “If I can anyway get cured, this is only a short term expense. Seems like a great deal”. His lifestyle was already hermetic, so the alternative medicine doctor told him to just take the herbs and forget about everything. He did that too - but within 3 months, the sugar had shot up to 450 mg/dl ! He was distraught, but never once blamed the native medicine doctor.
The alternative medicine guys hide behind intentions, just like politicians. Patients think, “ the nice neighbourhood alternative medicine doctor, INTENDED to cure me with the best possible thing that nature has to offer. Sadly it didn’t work. Now I have to go back to those annoying “Allopathic” doctors and take their “unnatural” medicine”. The quacks know the patients would take the drug for at least 3 months, before giving up - thus netting a revenue of Rs. 50000 per patient through drugs alone. What makes this particularly diabolic is that, the patient had been told that “It gets worse, before it gets better. The body is purging the toxic influences”. So they think, that the high sugar is actually the body’s rehearsal to diabetes reversal.
The saddest part of this story is that the patient is ‘educated’. If the same thing had been done by any modern medical doctor, it would have amounted to malpractice. The same gullible patient would have blamed the doctor, the pharma company or the "system".
A quack’s greatest strength is the gullible patient.
A huge hole has opened in the sun's atmosphere, and it is spewing a stream of solar wind directly toward Earth.
NASA's SDO photographed the structure, which stretches almost 800,00 km along its long axis. 1/
On a serious note, unless you value money and consider it as important, your wealth accumulation journey would not begin.
Many ask whether money would make one happy. Definitely not. But do you think lack of money is going to make someone happy? Don't connect money and happiness.
Happiness is our inner life. Nothing to do with money or lack of it. For those who ask whether all rich people are happy, my counter question is whether all poor people are happy.
Happiness is inner life. Money is outer life. Have this clarity.
