The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program is special because it meets families right where they are.
By partnering with trusted local organizations and community members, MIECHV connects families with support they need while strengthening the communities they call home. @RepLaHood
I’m extremely grateful to Bloomington native and Brightpoint Vice President of Early Childhood Development, Mendy Smith, for testifying at today’s @WaysandMeansGOP Work & Welfare Subcommittee hearing on the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.
Her advocacy and expertise is invaluable to the members of our committee as we look at ways to strengthen the MIECHV program.
This program builds upon decades of research that proves home visits by trained professionals during pregnancy and in the first years of a child’s life help prevent child abuse, improve maternal health, and promote child development.
Julia Cortina from @NACoTweets provided a federal policy update the #mncounties Fall Policy Conference, sharing info about reconciliation and appropriations. Commissioners appreciated her insights on SNAP funding changes!

Final stops today on our tour of migrant resettlement in El Paso was to the @ElPasoCounty Migrant Center and Sacred Heart Church and Shelter. Seeing the smiles on many kids faces made everyone's day. Thank you to Father Rafael Garcia and your team at Sacred Heart for your work.
Good Morning from El Paso, Texas! I'm here with a group of @NACoTweets & @NYSCounties colleagues touring entry points into the US and how migrants and asylum seekers are processed upon entry. Currently I'm at Paso del Notre entry point, one of the busiest entry points to the US.
This week I am joining a bi-partisan group of County Executives for a visit to the Southern Border. Albany County alone has over 700 migrants and we hope this trip will help provide insight as to how we move forward.
