This article taught me the difference of "all natural" and organic and how there are some loopholes around food labels! Very interesting read. #beh103@beh353
"Natural" is a buzz word in the nutrition labeling space. But what does it mean?
You might be surprised to learn that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t have a formal definition for “natural” as a food labeling term.
However, they do have a policy about its use in food labeling. The FDA considers “natural” to mean that nothing artificial or synthetic has been put into a food that wouldn’t be expected to be there.
FDA's policy is not meant to address food production, processing or manufacturing methods.

I learned that losing weight is due to resting metabolism and this is not the same for us all. We can eat the same amount but I may be bigger than you. I won’t eve fat shame people because no one is choosing this life, they’re just dealing with their metabolism

I hope to incorporate thought communication and language when discussing nutrition. It is important moving forward, that health "looks" different on everyone. #beh353@beh353
The barrier I relate to is the lack of time to plan, shop, prepare and cook healthy foods. Getting together a nutrient dense meal takes a lot of preparation and time so I tend to opt for something quick and satiating. I’ve been working on this by meal prepping! #beh353@beh353
I am l surprised every time I see these advertised during flu season and in the medication aisle and the minimal research to backup its immune boosting claims
There is little/no evidence that these supplements change the severity or duration of an illness. Why does @Walgreens and @cvspharmacy sell them along with the legitimate medications containing active ingredients? How many customers are deceived? https://t.co/OSsj9bnNHE
@TamarC227073@beh353 Hi Tamar, I used to take Flintstone vitamins as well! During my childhood, they used to be the top pediatrician recommended multivitamin but now there are so many different options for children. #beh353@beh353

I would recommend the "How to Start Eating Healthy: 10 Changes You Can Make" on health by Cat Lafuente because the vocabulary is simplified for the general population and it was medically reviewed by a registered dietician, Allison Herries, RDN. #beh353@beh353
I enjoyed reading this article and the importance of the SDOH model and how each factor affects our health in terms of sleep, diet, and overall wellness.

The most interesting fad diet to me is the keto diet as it is the deprivation of one of the core food groups: carbohydrates. I am curious o the long term effects of this diet as it eliminates a necessary food group completely. #beh353@beh353
The ozempic “craze” has been popularized and widespread throughout media. I wonder what the effects of these weight loss medications on people without diabetes/insulin resistance will have long term.
