@mikemcginley25 It’s a weird avenue to head down. Do we want the jerseys to look like NASCAR? The league and owners probably do. But it could go towards a direction of offering extra compensation if a player does their own patch on their shoes or something
@NoeckerRyan Was just about to say this! But yeah. Another way that could change the game is for this to truly take off. It could cause companies to sell these personalized items pre-made and partner with other companies
Does anyone think that every league is one scandal away from losing tons of advertisers? Or is it a strong foundation? One “innovation” that might occur is a complete abandonment of the league itself due to reactionary culture #SRM3227
However, they might be able to seamlessly transition the players and coaches and leagues to all be on the same page for advertising and marketing. physical sports leagues all have different sponsorship and styles. E-sports might all rally behind one company
I think esports could see some interesting innovation while still sticking to the same gameplan of other sport organizations. Putting ads in the games, on the side of the controllers or attire or championship trophy is not new #SRM3227
@theDorais I totally agree, there’s some uncertainty with where everything is going. But there certainly will be a civil war amongst sports teams and the leagues in the near future
Honestly I think the biggest thing being overlooked is the lack of sports marketing in more public spots. I rarely see big billboards, physical or digital promoting anything. Innovation to that could be helpful still in places like time square #srm3227
I have a fake email I put down for all the survey stuff. That email is probably at capacity for emails at this point. I wonder how many others who fill these out are in the same boat #srm3227
@AngelaBSTHM@theDorais@ReportReynolds Exactly. It seems counterintuitive sometimes. Then again, what’s a 60 dollar hoodie to a multi-million dollar company? If even 50% of the data is accurate, it was probably worth it
Companies like Target and Walmart are on top of their game. If you buy from them once, the emails will continue until the day you die. Eventually, if you buy enough from them they’ll know exactly who you are #srm3227
A big one that no one has mentioned is likely a bit of collusion with major tech companies like Facebook and Google to gather data on anyone's search history to target consumers
#srm3227
One of the most innovative ways I saw data being collected from consumers is to have a giveaway. Often times pro sports teams will give out a signed baseball bat or something in exchange for a survey #srm3227
I’ve actually seen companies offer money or gift cards in exchange for some data to that can properly used. Overall, providing incentives seems to work the best #srm3227
