We have over 400 seats in Figma guess who is majority: development and product. Figmas goal was never the designer persona but the developer. As most companies will have my higher ratio of developers to designers. So from a business perspective it makes sense to try a pivot. All these new tools like motion for designers is just noise. Who would even use it in a professional environment where the last thing you do is actually animation and motion. Figma has an identity crisis.

I canceled my Figma subscription last night.

Fable 5 built the part of Figma I actually use in basically one shot. Local, free, with AI design critique, one click background removal, and a thumbnail tester that previews inside the real YouTube feed.

Claude Fable 5 is out today. I gave it 4 real design jobs in Cursor. No benchmarks.
The one that got me: it rebuilt a live, PAID enterprise app from a single screenshot. Recreated the canvas as an SVG. Matched the design system. A few minutes.
