@sweatscience@runnerphysio@chrisbramah@labratrundown Yes, we will be conducting our larger study this fall with a goal sample size of 50 runners. The only data we have at this point is from our n=8 pilot study last fall and are very preliminary.
New research shows super spikes give about a 1.3% boost in performance.
A 4:00 mile becomes a 3:56.8 mile.
Note: I'm now calling myself a 3:57 miler...

Another pilot study compared training in flats vs supershoes for 8 weeks. The flats group improved economy by 5.6%, compared to 1.0% in supershoes. Intriguing (though very preliminary) data. The full study will proceed this fall: if you're in the Bay Area, you can sign up!

One highlight: superspikes boost running economy by 2% compared to old spikes. With a bunch of assumptions, that implies an old 4:00 mile would now be 3:56.8.
